Just ordered mine through DCBS. Yep, it's a long wait but I'm saving 40+ bucks. In this case the wait doesn't bother me as much since I have the V1. I think the bigger drawback is that DCBS charges your creditcard next month (Nov) for the full amount of the order.

I did not know about that. But looking into it, it looks like it only applies to mixed orders. I suppose one could place a couple different orders to get around this maybe? Anyway that would have been a rude shock.

"Credit card orders that do not contain comic books, trade paperbacks or hardcovers will be charged as the items ship. All other credit card orders will generally be charged in the month after the order is placed. For example, orders for October 2009 items (coded OCT09XXXX) will be charged about November 14-16 if the order includes comic books, trade paperbacks or hardcovers."

Ahh I see. Never knew since I get my monthly comic orders from them. Oh well.

Another good thing is that its included with my monthly comic book shipment. So essentially I'm not paying any shipping for the figure. (Just pay the regular monthly $5.95 for the shipping of the books.)

This is an interesting discussion, I can't think of any HT sculpt that's ever shown teeth, I wonder why that is, I mean granted, the traditional sculpt is to be fairly neutral in the face to add diversity, which is good, but something like Batman where you have multiple mouths, or even Cannibal Jack Sparrow where you could have gone that route because it's a very expressive face, I wonder why they wouldn't try it, maybe it's tricky to do and have it look good and not cheesy.

The new Hot Toys Comedian shows teeth. But imo it looks incredibly goofy. Would of preferred a simple smile in this case.

However, I think if they include teeth on a "grimacing" face sculpt it would look much better than the teeth on the smiling Comedian. Not sure it's necessary for the TDK batman, but other figures (Wolverine) would definitely benefit from an alternate head showing teeth.

I reckon it looks great, it's only because they actually give him the upper teeth line, like how i believe the real guy smiles, and the way they end his teeth right on the lip, makes it look goofy. Could look awesome with work

It is something that requires swappable mouths or heads for some characters, for the Comedian, I think that being his only (well for now, once they officially announce him maybe there will be an alternate) head, it's a good sum of the character, something like Batman or even Joker, would be a bit too moment specific and not a good overall representation so you'd need swap options, which is why I'm surprised they didn't try it on Cannibal Jack, get those gold teeth showing and all.

I wouldn't think it's a special skill, but I'm not a sculptor so I don't know what it's like trying that.

You know me, i'd rather prefer a dead on moment specific head, rather than a more subtle and slightly more off, but diverse expression. You being the photography buff would prefer the latter of course lol ALthough i would have really enjoyed a Joker sculpt like my display pic, mouth open but no teeth. Considering he also did that alot too. Having a look through movie caps too, he also shows alot of teeth quite regularly too. Not a full smile per se, but teeth nonetheless.

I don't think that the PERS head would be an issue as the Joker's head is just a standard neck joint which can be used on other figures I want to know will the LED's be part of the body (like the Iron Man) or will it be a little switch on the neck (like the Terminator figure)

If the body is going to look better on the new one I want to use that as the sticky bomb version and the old as the Sonar version.

Possibly, depends on the neck adapter. When HT did Iron Man, the neck plug was bigger than standard figures for the light, if they use the same method on Batman for the sonar and the neck plug is larger than normal again, the PERS head would sit kinda loose on the v1 figure. Also, the sizes of the necks may be different and if the DX neck is smaller, the opening on the PERS head may not be big enough to go around the v1 neck without cutting away some of the head.

It's really hard to say until people get it in hand and try these things or at least post pictures that you can figure it out from.
