yup, i agree! together with the sauron pf that sideshow has already expressed the possibility of being made! these two, in case the cave troll would become a reality, would be the ultimate pieces of any lotr collection! i wouldn't really mind spending US$450 (this is the most sideshow would charge for their pfs, as they had previously stated so put your worries to rest) for these.

I would expect it to be around $500 just like Abomination with the same shipping. Considering a 1/6 Cave Troll sells for $1000+, that's a great deal.

if it's anywhere near the same size it'd have to be hollow, or else it would have to be truck frieghted.

They also stated in the same sentence of that Nov. 2005 news release the figures would stand approx. 12-18" tall. A 1/4 cave troll PF would easily stand 36+" tall which would put it in the same ballpark size-wise as SS's 1/2 scale Terminator and Iron Man statues. So even if [and it's a huge if] SS decided to go ahead which such a project you are dreaming if you think it would be in the $500 price range.

I just realized something.

Why can't we have a Cave Troll PF!?!?

Abomination is 16'8" Tall. A Cave Troll is 12-17' Tall. The Abomination PF was only wearing underwear, so why not a Cave Troll with a loin cloth?

If Sideshow can make an Abomination PF a Cave Troll PF is definitely doable!

i was only commenting on what fritz has stated. although i still wouldn't settle for a cave troll pf smaller than, let's say, the lurtz pf, which is 22.5" tall, i think a cave troll that has a 1/4 scale is really too big and bulky for everyone's convenience. it's the mass and the bulk that goes with the height that is the real problem. a 1/4 sauron pf that is 36", won't pose the same problem, and sideshow has already stated that it is doable. maybe a cave troll not at 36", maybe a version of him in 1/6 scale would suffice, around maybe 25"-28". that's enough size for those who actually want this pf, and a bit, even just a bit cheaper than what you guys assume this thing would actually cost.

and just fyi, even if it does actually come out and it does tower at 36" and does cost around US$1000, that's 50,000 philippine pesos from where i'm coming from, i'd still definitely buy it. still have a lot of time to save up for it.

You're right, SS may be able to make it smaller in height, but they still have to contend with the huge mass of a 1/4 scale CT. So while it may be smaller height-wise, it would have to be 3-4 ft long to make up for that.
I too would buy one in a heartbeat, but seeing as SS has already stated there will be no horses [or horse and riders] in PF does it make any sense that SS would create a CT PF, seeing as it would be twice the size of a horse?

I dont think a cave troll is neccessary in PF form, id rather see it in a dio, plus theres so many characters that need to made first.

I own the SSW version and it's a fantastic statue, but seeing as SS with their PF's have done a better job than SSW on almost every character so far I can see where some might not be too anxious for SS to do a CT.

I'll gladly concede GTW, and Galadriel is a draw [both equally bad] but anyway you slice it the score is still 6-1-1 in favor of SS. Now I don't know how you guys in the UK keep score, but here in North America 6-1 is considered a butt kicking.
