And MY apologies for throwing my teddies out of my pram yesterday as well,I was a bit surprised that was all by the response LOL,

I didn't realise that this was a subject that has had a lot of discussion,I've had a search around and not found much to be honest (although I did find the thread regarding Spenser's AMAZING Ramirez )

What is the Kurgan Krusade some guys are mentioning????

So with that out of the way I'll just say HI instead as I've not really spoken to you guys properly yet,

I'm Mark from the UK, 37 going on 18 LOL,interested in all the usual stuff,I collect mainly Hot Toys Preds/Aliens as well as the Dark Knight stuff (got everything so far)
Have Sideshows Connor,Kurgan and Connor Origins Standard versions,
Every Sideshow LOTR 12" exclusive fig,

Getting a lot of loose McLeod stuff from Toy anxiety to make a couple of customs soon too (final battle Mcleod )

Is there any threads I should be looking at for Highlander Customs,has anyone done a medievil Kurgan??? or a Glencoe Battle Connor(my next project)???

So once again sorry guys for getting bent out of shape on what I should have realised was a bit of friendly banter on a subject that obviously has history LOL

Sideshow also admitted the Connery's likeness was not able to be included in the licence - so there won't be a Ramirez.

I'm afraid the only Highlander HT figures might be if they get onboard the reboot.......

Ok, so thats from Galaxy Quest (hey!! think we could get them made? )
Anything is possible.
Sideshow's Ape line failed mostly because it was never really promoted, then they released too many figures at once and in so doing supplemented the line with numerous "human" variants of the same character.
Hot Toys did pick up the line (YAY HOT TOYS!!) and does, I have on good authority, intend on another wave of figures. I don't think Hot Toys does anything without a great deal of forethought. And the Apes base is not just here in the US, it global. While not as popular the world over as Star Wars it has a strong fanbase in the Asian market where I think the big saving push comes from.
That having been said, I wish you good luck in your efforts. No one knows more than I how long a crusade can take.
Stick with it.
Gather support.
Keep in friendly contact with those supporters and with HT if possible. And, when all seems hopeless, DON'T GIVE UP!

But there wasn't really enough interest in the Highlander property for SSC to make a real go of it. Of course there's the precedence of HT picking up the Apes, which was also an unsuccessful line for SSC. But it seems that HT is discovering that the Apes aren't as popular as they'd thought, since we haven't seen any more after the initial 3. I'd doubt they would go after another line like that this soon.

Geez, Dave... can't you go a month without taking a pot shot at the Apes?

Have there been any announcements of the second Hellboy wave? What about Watchmen after the intial two announced. Any more Godfather figures? Huh, Dave? HUH?

As you well know, Hot Toys doesn't operate the same way Sideshow does with a bunch of preorders posted before any real figures are shipped. How many SS Star Wars figures were on pre-order before we actually got Jedi Luke? Silence doesn't equal "death of the line" with Hot Toys way it does with Sideshow.

Hot Toys plays things close to the chest. I'm sure Hot Toys is taking a wait and see stance with many of their lines. Besides, we have on good authority (from a Freak Board member) that Hot Toys does have a second wave of Apes in the works. It will just be awhile.

That is fine with me... as you also know, we Ape fans are patient. Sideshow choked their Apes line with too many releases and too many of the wrong Taylors. I'm glad Hot Toys doesn't want to make that same mistake.
