FOOL OF A TOOK!

Throw Smaug in your cart, and rid us of your indecision!

Ordered! Thanks Weta, for listening to fans concerns and producing an affordable alternative to the bronze version!

Only two things made me wish I should of gone to SDCC 09. One being my friends here on the boards, second was John Howe attending the con. I love the man's art! Even before I even became an actual Tolkien/LOTR fan.

ORDERED!

Bring on the Nazgul vs eowyn! :rock

I could not resist it. It's simply AWESOME! My Order is IN !! :gun

Dannie, I don't think John Howe was at SDCC this year. He was LAST year, but not this year.

Fool_of_a_Took -- that pic you see is the resin version, and not the bronze one, as Tim from Weta confirmed they did not have the bronze version ready for SDCC. So . . .if the production looks like the proto, this bad boy will look great. As for the difference between resin and poly . . .not too sure.

You're are correct. Silly me, the 2nd most thing I missed about 2009 SDCC was that sexy voice of yours. :naughty:naughty

Eh Matt?

Yeah - When I first laid eyes on it, I just couldnt even imagine a better, more pure, classic Smaug! And as I previously noted, I just finished re-reading the book a week ago! Gonna look awesome with a with a dim, overhead light to make it "glow"!

Thanks Rad!

Eh Matt?

Me? :confused::confused::confused:

Most didn't know that what was at Con was a fb, if Weta follows their normal pattern; what we saw should be what we get! :rock

Pros...

- Looks beautiful!
- John Howe rocks!
- Weta rocks!
- Comes with a hardcover book!
- Price and Edition size very reasonable.

Cons...

- I don't really do the faux bronze stuff
- I don't really do anything other than premium format anymore.

Unfortunately even though the pros outweigh the cons, I'm not going to order at this time even though I'll probably regret it down the road. :monkey2

I'm sure all of you that did order will love this piece. :rock

So I've tried the site but no mention of a cancellation fee on a preorder? Anyone know before I email them?

I'm not cancelling but some freaks on the fence are curious as am I.

It's a good question. I'm not certain myself.

Somehow I get the sense that it's not a free-for-all like Sideshow.
