Alright guys times are hard on me now a days just like I am sure they are for everyone else. I was one of the first to receive one of these beautiful pcs. I am getting rid of my Detolf and this piece. I have the broken glass AND non broken version. I will take $90 which is what I paid. PM if you want it. Maybe one day I can get it again.

I have alot of figures that I am going to start letting go of. Check my for sale thread later.

THANKS

sorry to hear you must let go some of your stuff spiderbo. Good luck with your sell ;)

I just got mine today and it is well worth the wait! Dioramas just up the display quality of any figure. I've got this next to the Godfather. Its that good. Now I just need to find something else to fill the other top shelf on my desk!

This is such an awesome piece, but I could help adding a bit to it myself. Not a major addition, but I think it finishes it off quite nicely.

I went to the craft store and got a little bag of broken mirror pieces. I broke them down into smaller pieces and "dust." I then poured them out on the base under the "hit" in the mirror. I then picked up the bigger pieces and left the rest. :D

Now is even more realistic!! great addition Buttmunch

Aw man. I really want the tutorial to this real bad so I can make my own.

I can at least tell you a bit more about it. The walls are made out of wood. The tiles are actually carved out. The floor is made of that layer of floor that you lay before putting in real tile. Not sure what that iis called. And the mirror is of course a mirror. All the pieces just screw together.

Hey Buttmunch. Did you order your dio w/ the regular mirror also? Does it seem like it would be difficult to swap out the broken & regular mirror? I plan on displaying mine w/ Batman standing behind the Joker as he sits and w/ the unbroken mirror in the back. Thanks.

Hey Brant,

Thanks for the positive words/feedback. Glad you love it!!! Yours is the first one I did with the screw together side pieces. The first 4 I did were in 2 pieces...the base and the backdrop...but dude the shipping was killing me, so I figured out a way to make the sides removable so it fit in a Flat Rate Priority box. It is awesome to see that it went back together as planned(I tested it about 5 times...but I still worried). Nice to see it next to "The Don". The top black mirror edge just slides off if you want to change the mirror...but please be careful. I am working pretty hard on these so everyone who ordered I appreciate your patience guys. They are coming!!! :)

As for the tutorial...here is a quick rundown of parts.

1 piece of MDF board 5.5 inches wide x 6 feet long(thats the smallest length they carry)for the big piece of the backdrop. MDF board is a wood/cardboard material that is very dense. It is found right by the 1x4 at home depot(just ask someone there)

1 piece of 1.5 inch x 6 feet MDF for the sides.

Cut the 5 1/2 to 10 5/8 long so now you have a 5 1/2 x 10 5/8 piece on MDF.
Cut the 1 1/2 piece into 2 pieces 13 1/2 inches long. These are the side pieces.

Now you need to draw out the brick pattern. The brick pattern is specific to the Int. Room and is NOT just a standard brick pattern. I scaled the bricks to 1 1/8" for the big ones and 1/2" for the small ones. See Buttmunch's pics.

More to come...

Yeah I did get the unbroken mirror as well. Like mike said, the top frame of the mirror comes off and the mirror just slides out. You just have to be careful with the broken mirror. But I've liked the broken mirror so much that I haven't switched it out.

Hey all, here is how I carved the bricks out of the MDF board...

Since the material is MDF it cuts pretty easy. I used a 18 tpi(teeth per inch) sawzall blade or recipricating saw blade(same thing) and just ran it back and forth with my hand... they can be found a Home Depot or Lowes or any hardware store. The 18 tooth fine sawblade is used for metal cutting but it works great on the MDF. You will want to make sure and use a straight edge to guide the saw blade for the horizontal lines so they stay straight. I then used a Dremel with a carving tip for all the little vertical cuts...again make sure you use a straight edge to keep the lines nice.

Each row of bricks is 1/2 high so in total on the big piece of MDF you should have 11 rows of bricks... remember that the top row of bricks on the big piece is different than all the rest. It is a series of small bricks...check some screencaps if need be, my earlier pics, and the pics Buttmunch posted. I scaled them to 1/2" wide each.

One the 2 side pieces you should end up with 27 rows of bricks.

More to come later...

Hey Guys,

Just got my diorama today. It looks great!! I'll put up pics as soon as I can get a hold of a camera. For those of you who are waiting on one, believe me, it's worth the wait. Mike made them real easy to put together. He is a real stand-up guy. Awesome to deal with. Great communication. Thanks again, dude! Looking forward to see what else you got up your sleeve! :chew
