While I personally try to defer to the law when possible, the legal system is not perfect, and obviously only those who were involved in these accusations really know the truth. Saying that we know that he did or did not do these things are both extremely speculative, IMO. We just don't know, and will never know for sure.

Regardless if he was guilty of doing anything or not they would have done this. It was their job to protect him and his assets.

Your absolutely right, it was their job to protect him, both from himself and from the public. Which begs the question, why would he ignore all his legal advise and engage in these activites when he was fully aware of the potential for disaster.

He probably felt like a God with the money and adoration that he had, that he was not held to the same standards as everyone else. As such, he probably didn't care. I mean, why would he admit on television that he slept in a bed with small boys? That was extremely stupid, but he seemed to literally live in his own world at that point in his life, and probably didn't even realize or care.

Sure does. Thanks!

No, thank you! I always thought the legal system is seriously flawed, but now because of you I know it's perfect. I'm gonna to have to go now and write OJ apologizing to him for thinking he was guilty of two counts of murder. Does anyone know the name and address of the penitentiary he now resides in? :lol

See there is the problem with your theory. I truly believe he was not aware of the risks. I believe he was doing something that he believed was truly innocent and there was no reason in his mind to stop.

Well,
I'm back...
I'm very saddened about this whole thing...
The ironic thing is that, most people don't even know how much good, and positive things MJ did for the world, with his music, with his artistry and as humanitarian...
The media loves the dirt... they can't focus on positive things because they like to see people fail...

I didn't know the man, but his music was a huge part of the soundtrack of my life,
and I know for a fact that he did a lot of good... and he had a great positive influence in the world that most of us could only hope to accomplish...

He was a living Legend...
Rest in Peace Michael...
thanks for sharing your magic with us...

:monkey2

To all the people that are trying to be funny...
I hope you are better than that...
The world doesn't need negativity and poison...
If it doesn't affect you, there's plenty of other threads for you
Thanks...

Dude... Lay off Badmoon. He is not saying the system is perfect. He is just saying that the lawyers and such had more information than us.

You want to attack someone attack me. I brought it up. He had to many allegations for at least one of them not to be true. The Vatican paid more money than he did to keep their kid touching skeletons out of the courts. There were those that tried to hop on the get rich by lying and saying MJ touched our kid, but there were accusations prior and after the court case. I wouldn't be surprised if more allegations sprung up in a few weeks.

The iconic musician and the man that he was were on 2 seperate worlds.

their a lot of artist that music effect us and change how we see things but I dont think that changes or exempts them from the law. I wouldnt have trusted him with my kids on an "overnight" sleepover.

Please people...
don't play the game with the people that
are trying to be negative...

I'd like to ask the Mods to monitor this thread closely...
please...

thanks...

You should never get too emotionally vested in your "heroes". You can attach yourself emotionally to their work, sure... but when you deify them as a person you're actually losing touch with reality whether you know it or not. They are just people. Talented, sure. But still... just people. With the same faults and issues as the rest of us. Sometimes, much more so.

Well said!!! You can love his music but if you had kids would you trust him around them? That is an excellent point Saya.

I saw the Jackson's Victory Tour in November 1984 when it came to the Houston Astrodome. They put on a damn good show back then. That was the only time I ever got to see Michael in concert.

According to Wikipedia, Michael Jackson donated all of his proceeds ($5 million) from the tour to three charities, including the T.J. Martell Foundation for Leukemia and Cancer Research, The United Negro College Fund, and the Ronald McDonald Camp for Good Times.

Woodsy just likes to argue. Hence my one line reply. No point trying to expain anything. :lol

I'm not here to attack anyone, but if someone wants to use some ridiculous arguement to defend someone that most likely isn't worth defending then it should be put to the test. What he said was "It was proven in the courts that he was not guilty. They had much more information than we, the public will ever know".

My counter is: Firstly, just because someone is found innocent by the courts doesn't mean they are not guilty of the crime [aka OJ]. Secondly, having information and being able to use it in a court of law are two different things. And thirdly, how exactly does MJ settling out of court prove he was innocent

Personally, I wasn't there and I don't know what went on, but neither were any of the people here defending him and his actions, yet that hasn't stopped them from pleading his innocence. As for me, I'll stick with the old adage "where there's smoke, there's fire".

As for the man and his music being on two separate worlds, perhaps....but those two world's came crashing together when the allegations started popping up and his career was never the same.

This is all surreal...
Let me share my story with you... it's actually kind of eerie...

Yesterday, I went to a day trip with my wife and a friend who is in town to the Wild Animal Park here in CA,
and I was thinking early in the morning about what music to play on the road...
my pick was Michael Jackson...
we were actually talking about him on our way there, and I was telling my friend how I'd love to see him perform one last time live...
Later, a friend of mine called me and gave me the news...
I couldn't believe it...
