This appears to be the biggest bone of contention among collectors talking about the Count Dooku PF (That and Why No Exclusive?)

Is this something that could possibly change by production time? I have to agree with most that ALL PF figures should include that 'extra' something you won't find with the 1/6 line, and that has been generally light up sabers. Why no light up saber for Dooku? Please tell me this will change!

I have been very much looking forward to a Count Dooku PF, he is one of my favorite prequel characters and a must-have for the Sith shelf. With some slight tweaking to the outfit and face sculpt/paint, this could be a KILLER PF. I love the pose...but it NEEDS TO HAVE A LIGHT UP SABER!!!

:maul

I don't collect the SW PFs but was wondering if the previous Jedi's/Sith's w/ light up sabers, did they have a way to replace the batteries? Polystone isn't usually a medium that is good for implementing compartments for batteries and covers.

Most of them have light up sabers. This one and Asajj don't.

i agree. this should have had an exclusive and a light up saber. i'm very upset as dooku is one of my favorite sith. bad call sideshow. i would have purchased this even though the likeness is marginal if they would have come through with with an exclusive and light up capability. when did you stop listening to the customers? pass + fail

Maybe a light up Death Star hologram?

I agree, a death star hologram would have been a good ex, if they included a light up saber, then you could have an alternate hand with a light up death star, or since the electronics would have already been in it, you could have one hand with saber and the other with hologram, but im assuming this would drive the price up even more, and at this point with no light up saber and no ex and a $300 price tag people probably wouldnt pay for it anyway.....

On the subject of the saber, maybe this PF was intended to display with Asajj since she has no light up sabers??

I doubt very much SS will change or alter anything, and IF anything they will just take new photos with slightly adjusted costume to make it look a bit better like they did with the T-800 and the 12 Inch Bespin Luke.

Still $300 bux is starting to get way to much to pay for an 'ok' PF, and as an avid SS PF collector, i have around 30 PF's now but i too will be passing on things like this and will no longer justify the $$ unless its absolutely a home run statue.... i just hope if SS plans on any Luke Jedi, Bespin or Hoth PF releases they dont do what they did to this one and i also hope that in 6 months time the price on mediocre PF's doesnt jump up to $350 or more...:sick

Maybe sideshowdusty can chime in on this. why did sideshow decide NOT to make an exclusive or light up saber for this pf? i would buy it in an instant if it had either of those things. maul/vader/anakin/obi had light up saber and exclusive, why not dooku?.

I might be wrong, but I don't remember there being exclusives offered of SDCC products in the past.

Sith Anakin
Zombie Babysitter (three variants later on, but no exclusive version)
Patient Zero
Aayla Secura

I don't buy many items during SDCC, so feel free to correct me if my memory fails me.

Dooku isn't a SDCC exclusive.

Well, that answers that question.

It couldn't have anything to do with the curved lightsaber hilts, could it? Asajj and Dooku both use those curved sabers, so could that be preventing them from implementing the light-up feature?

lets start a letter writing campaign to see if we can get this pf fixed. i just used the contact cs form and here's the gist of my message:

does the count dooku pf statue have a light up saber? if not, why doesn't it have one? if it does, why don't you mention it in the item description? either way. also how come no exclusive for this pf? i'm a big time star wars collector and dooku is one of my favorites. i can usually count on sideshow to come through with some great products, but i think you dropped the ball on this one.

Before you start sending those letters, here's the word from the production department:

"We hope to include the feature, but we have to wait on confirmation that it will be possible in production before adding it to the product description. Dooku's curved saber design is causing some difficulties with the wiring at this time. No promises, but we are hoping to include the light-up feature by the time it starts shipping."

Pass it on... :duff

That's awesome you respond to such matters. Thanks for the input

at least SS is responding to the outcries, but what about the biggest problem---the really, really, really bad head sculpt??? i'd be willing to overlook the light up feature if its a production issue, but there is no excuse for a subpar character likeness. no promises, but i may or may not keep this order depending on how this issue is handled.
