It's a very nice looking figure but my Marmits and Medi's are still safe. The cod-piece doesn't bother me much, the helmet details are a little annoying but it's still a strong looking figure over all.

That would be my assessment. It's not perfect, but it doesn't look bad by any means. My main gripes are with the helmet more than the chest armor, codpiece, etc. Overall, I'm glad I canceled my order because I'm happier with the Marmit trooper I currently have, but I certainly wouldn't say the SS offering is a major disappointment.

I mean, anyone surprised that the stormtrooper figure would be highly scrutinized? Aside from the speaker-thingees in the helmet being too big and silver, lack of shine and chest armor that may be ill-fitting (to be determined once I get mine), its a pretty good figure.

It doesn't look quite as nice as the proto, but that's the norm for SS - not the exception. And I mean this as no crack at them - they do a pretty good job. But, i do believe they can do better.

More Pics . . . . .

Gave the Exclusive Pistol to my Imperial Officer.

The pistol fits in the hoster quite well.

Just a quick pose; still need to do some futzing.

How did you raise the helmet up off of the shoulders? He looked like a football player before, now he looks much better.

Just don't push the head down all the way. Just push it down enough so that you can see still see the neck; avoid the No-Neck Syndrome. The post in the helmet will still wrap around the neck joint with a snug fit.

I just got it today too!
Overall, looks nice, but I'm worried about the material for the armour...
I'm afraid it's that PVC plastic that will become yellow fairly quick...
I like the material from Medicom's armour better, but it's a very nice figure no doubt...
the thing is, that scale issues aside, Medi armoured figures look great right out of the box, while SS need lots of futzing...
Pics coming soon!

Pics look great to me. Keep them coming. I hope to one day get my hands on this, since my order is still PROCESSING! hehe

It's fine though, in the process of moving so it'll probably stay in the box until I get settled in.

Isn't it the same material as the Clone Obi?

What ever happened to this so called hard plastic that SS kept bragging about using??

I don't own ClonObi, so I don't know... I would assume it's the same...

I'm really no plastic expert, but just to give you an idea, it feels like the material used for Model Cars, thicker though...
is that PVC? ABS?
I don't know, but that sort of hard plastic... like the shell for Model Cars as I said.

Quick pics (sorry for the yellowish tone):

Overall great figure, but for some reason, I like Medi materials better...
I'll compare them side to side tonight...
we'll see!
But, if you don't own a Medi or Marmit, this is a great figure for sure!!

BTW, it's NOT glossy at all, so that's kind of a bummer...

Does anyone else have sloppy paint like mine? The paint on the belt is really rough on one of mine like it was rubbed off before drying.

Also, there are gaps between the different pieces of the helmet. Overall, I expected better quality control on this release.

Initial thoughts:

Figure looks great in hand!

I got lucky with the paint apps -- no slop seen so far.

My body is very loose. :( Takes some fiddling to get it to pose. Means I may have to strip him down and superglue the joints.

The chest piece doesn't flare so bad on mine. Could still do with some heating just to make it right.

I do miss the gloss sheen a bit, not so much on the armor as I do on the eyes. The eyes definitely need to gloss desperately.

All in all, better than I was expecting after the critiques lately. I'm happy. :)
