I have to agree that the Hasbro Ark looks better right now but we still have a long way to go until this one ships so lots of changes could be made.

I'll agree with folks that the hasbro has better shine to the gold. The current SSC apps are a bit matte looking.

While polystone is nice, the Hasbro sculpt is more accurate than the Sideshow one.

I like Toht's attire. The trench coat is awesome.

Oh, and except for the wooden (plastic) poles, the Hasbro Ark looks a lot better, in my opinion.

I agree that the Ark's gold finish needs to look more "metalic" but I don't think the sculpt itself looks too "off"....

As far as I can tell we've got plenty of time before the figure is released to so we should let SS know now what changes need to be made. ;)

The two things I think need fixed to make it just outstanding is the wraps need to be darker and it needs more of a metallic finish. I don't think Hasbro's is true 1:6th where this is actually 1:6th.

The angels look a little "stubby" for lack of a better word. Other than that I can live with the side decoration and the handle holder colors being a little off.

Here's my quick take before I head out the door:

It could also use some more shine... as well as a ceremonial robed Belloq and nude pictures of Scarlett Johansson.

11 points not 10? Thats the type of anal retentive nature that cracks me up. Seriously who the hell even knows that or counts them. :lol The under thing not being accurate is more so it sits natural.

I ordered mine late last night, glad to see my fears were not fulfilled and we got a melty head! :D

But after examining Sideshow's Ark, I have to say I'm not completely satisfied with the sculpt. It could be more accurate, in addition what everyone has mentioned, I'd also say the protruding edge on the lid where the upper and lower concave pieces meet is too thick.

I hope Sideshow takes a bit more time to get the Ark right before it ships.

But Toht is 100% perfect. He comes with everything you could want and more. I really want a second one so I can have one being melted by the Ark.

Well, Sideshow should have known it and counted them. Either they try and make it accurate or they don't, and this is a sign that they haven't tried that hard - as we can see from all the other things wrong with it.

I do like the fact that it's proper 1/6 scale though.

Well, while it does seem very detailed to notice the difference in the number, it is a valid comment to make, they use reference images to make this thing, I would think, from my own experience matching artwork to source images, they'd have counted out the points in order to make it, so if it's off, it's either a missed detail or they had a reference that wasn't accurrate, or LFL said something, but a detail like the number of points seems easy to not miss, it's just a matter of looking and counting.

I just counted them based off the HR shots I took and there are more than 11 points from corner 2 corner. Actually SS points are accurate to the number from the movie. So they did get that right thank you very much.

They didn't try hard? That's just a stupid comment to make.

All the other things wrong with it. Fix the shine a bit and the wrappings thats it.

Agree to disagree please--- keep it civil.
And if you're just posting to stir the pot don't count on your post lasting too long.

Well, I'm with Dave on this, SSC prolly received the wrong Prop reference images from LFL. I'm sure Brant can clear this up.

Remember this is a Prototype "Pending Approval".

I've just been looking at this, as I thought it seemed fairly accurate... but after comparing it the folks are as always, right. The wings on the angels are too deep (but I can live with that) ... but the poles are too thick (and maybe too short?) and the pattern around the centre part is totally wrong and the wrong colour.

But god I REALLY hope they do something about those stubby, inelegant feet. Otherwise I'm gonna have to get my dremel out. (oh and i'll probably gold leaf it or something if it doesnt look much shiner in person... but we'll see, these are just early pics. I'm sure it will be fabulous)
