I'm sure a very slight edit in post- photography will make it look fine and bring out the highlights - in photos.

But that doesn't help with the fact that IRL when you're looking at it on your shelf, it's gonna be obvious how wrong the paint app is.

Yeah the white lighting in SS's vid doesn't help since it's just reflecting complete white.

Imagine HT pulling another batman begins where the early batches are ****ed and they fix the suit color in later ones.
White neutral lighting is exactly where we should be seeing that blue and purple. You’re not suppose to NEED specific lighting to see the color come through on this figure. What are people gonna do to display this? Get a specific blue and purple lighting setup just to force that color to show? They messed up yet again. Plain and simple.

If it doesn’t show up in Sideshow unboxing video, what are people expecting it to look like when they take it out of the box in their homes?

The funniest is their PO’s description:

« specially applied iridescent colored painting in purplish blue scheme »

Still looking for the « blue scheme »…
They really try to show it in the video and act like it’s super noticeable, and it’s barely even visible.

Wouldn't this fall under false advertisement?

I dunno but it ****ing should.

How about you all wait for in hand impressions before freaking out?

Well look it's no skin off my nose, I don't have to cancel a preorder and wonder about an NRD, I was going to be waiting to see in-hand pics/footage anyway but the Sideshow video made it crystal clear. It's bright chrome silver, just like the previous figure. It will need a highly specific lighting setup to even approximate an accurate look.

I don't know who the bigger joke is: HT for not delivering the improvements they specifically advertised, or me for thinking they would. We probably should have known better when they didn't do the a side-by-side comparison in the promo photos, which is something they usually do when they are going to release real improvements.

Obviously some of these pictures look better than others, and the ultimate test will be the side-by-side, but it's clear they dropped the ball on this one.

RoboCop has a difficult paintjob to replicate, that's absolutely true--but they didn't even get the base colour right, again. And here's the crazy part: all they had to do was use the paintjob they used on the S1 Beskar Mando, or the 1/4 Mando. If they had just done that, this would have been a massive improvement. The purple and blue highlights are about as good as can realistically be expected, it's that silver base colour that's the issue. RoboCop is titanium coloured. Hell, they even call out that it's titanium in the movie.

I didn't expect this thing to be a Kevin Ferrer replica-quality execution, but I at least expected them to deliver approximately what the prototype photos depicted.

I can't imagine InArt will ever pick this license up, so I guess let's all meet back here in another ten years to see the next HT attempt.

There hasn't been a side by side posted yet right? I'd be up for some clear improvement along with a chance at the joints rubber parts lasting longer than my original. But not if it looks identical

I feel like Justin would be the first to do a side-by-side comparison with the original and he’s…having some difficulty with his supplier at the moment! 🤣
Oh boy, this figure in Justin's lighting - we'd need those protective glasses people use so they can look at a solar eclipse.
