I think I would have preferred he stick with the S3 style myself, as I'm not sure the softer "velour" fabric translates as well to 1/6. At least judging from some of the early proto pics he showed of Spock.
I prefer those too as the earlier uniforms seemed to have a habit of shrinking - Kirk wore the same wrap uniform in season 2 and 3 and I don’t think it changed unlike the regular uniforms which is how I will most likely want to set the Captain up on my shelf.

I don’t think I will be getting Spock and McCoy from TOS as I’m still planning on mainly collecting Captains and trying not to double dip too often on multiples played by the same actor - my Kirk, Spock and McCoy trio will most likely just the the WoK versions (though I’m open to having my mind changed on those 3).

It changed a little...

I knew the season 1 version was completely different but I hadn’t realised there was that much of a change between season 2 and 3.

I'm not sure why such a delay in classic figures. I'm being to wonder if we'll ever get any, let alone the whole crew. Fortunately, I have QMX.
I think it's because they are expected to be fairly big sellers and they wanted to start with the smaller scale stuff so they could learn and build up to it rather than do what everyone else has done, which is start big and fizzle out quickly when the sales of the tertiery characters are so much lower.

I hope you're right

They said in the podcast that they're leaving them to last. This gives them distance from the QMx figures. Nanjin has teased TOS a lot, so there's little to no doubt they'll get round to them. Originally, they aimed for late this year early next, but Nanjin has stated he's 5 months behind the intended schedule. Given the amount of releases, that's not much delay at all.

Just as they have released a pre-order for a main TNG crewman (Data), it would be great if we get the same for TOS soon (perhaps Spock or Sulu, both who have already been done for the "Mirror, Mirror" line.) Instill some hope for those that are wanting TOS figures.

Anyone looking to get ALL 3 versions of Wolf? From TNG, DS9 & Picard?
What about EV? 😉

But I think I'm going to stick with DS9 for my Worf
SNW - Pike, Una, Uhura
DSC - Burnham (Captain), Saru, Tilly, Lorca
TMP - Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Khan
TNG - Picard, Riker, Data, Locutus
DS9 - Sisko, J. Dax, Worf, Dukat
VOY - Complete
ENT - Archer, T'Pol, Trip, Shran
PIC - Shaw, Seven (Captain)

Is the current plan
