Truly, Morbius is a bittersweet pill. It shows us the heights of human artistry, but also has devastating consequences for the ones that cannot handle its brilliance.

Dunno about you guys, but I'm hoping QS does a rooted Morbius 2-pack with Vamp Morbius and human Morbius. Such a cinematic classic deserves the best possible treatment. Screw the Joker, now this is a 1K$ tier character!

Kidding aside, any legitimate Morbius fans who were anxious about an HT... Yeah, I wouldn't bet money on it. Maybe he'll reappear in some Midnight Sons movie/show. Me, for the time being my plan includes just GR, Punisher and MK with Blade, Elsa & Dane as maybes. I don't want to overextend myself too much, especially with how many things are coming on the Cosmic & X front. I was looking at some collection vids the other day and the sheer clutter of it made me try and trim everything down. I'll stick with MCU Dracula to sate my vampire thirst and most probably skip Morbius, even if he's made. Beyond that, I hope they do the Kain/Coppola look over the Lugosi/Lee one.

Kind of off-topic, but I've got some legitimate excitement for Kraven. The director did "Margin Call" and "A Most Violent Year" which were great, and the casting thus far is good with ATJ and Crowe (I preferred the previous gal who was in the running for Calypso though), so I think it could be legitimately fun. Figure wise, I don't know, maybe if the film is a sleeper hit, the look is great and I've got nothing else going on. I don't even know where I'd put him though, so I'll probably pass in the end. Still, there's some potential there. Then again, Morbius had potential too and we all saw how it turned out. Regardless, I have more faith in the Kraven director, so I'm more optimistic.

I've never cared much for Kraven either, but the core concept isn't bad. It can make for a good flick on paper, it's the execution that matters. Lots of B/C/D-Listers could have their own little spin-offs away from the A-Listers purely based on their core concept. Kraven's no different from, say, Turok, and could headline his own little spin-off. The question here is whether they'll be able to pull it off.

Sony sucks at this sure, but the point I'm trying to make is that beyond "X is Y's villain", some characters, as pure concepts, can be more than they are. An aristocrat who pushes himself to the limit to hunt big game and ends up chasing all sorts of supernatural creatures and aliens while fighting mercs and assassins is a very viable concept. Predator became an icon simply by having a bunch of ugly aliens hunt down normal humans. Kraven's movie could still be uninspired bollocks, of course. And as he exists in the books, he is defined by Spider-Man mostly. But the concept's broad enough to work on its own. Not everyone can do that. You could pull a "Superior Foes" Ocean's 11 type of flick with some C/D-List crooks. Really, all you need is some imagination. Good pieces of entertainment have come out of less than most cape-characters (A/B/C/D/Z-List) have in their corner. You just need to do it right, which is something Sony's obviously not up to. But I like to be optimistic about it all, so... We'll see.

Kraven is the most boring of the main Spider-Man rogues (Sinister 6 members). Without Spider-Man to hunt, he is a terrible solo villain to base a movie around. At least Venom and Morbius were anti-heroes. That offered them something to work with, regardless of the outcome. Maybe if they had him hunt Felicia Hardy and put her in the sexy Black Cat costume and not that horrible cat mimicking one.

Saw Morbius tonight

This was the type of bad movie that actually makes me angry. The kind where I go in knowing it will be bad and then I actually somewhat enjoyed the first 1/2 hour and I think maybe the critics are getting it wrong and then it turns into absolute ****.

This film makes both Venom movies look brilliant.
