Hello!

Looked through the pages but didn't find what i was looking for.

Do the Hot Toys Fett's red gauntlets fit well on the Sideshow figure? Thinking of switching them and the backpack (i've found pics of the backpack, looks pretty good).

Thanks!

That I am not sure of...but I know that a fellow collector changed the Jango Fett gauntlets to the HT Boba Fett ones (he repainted them silver). Check out the Jango Fett page...I mean the sideshow Jango and Boba are so similar. I'm sure it would work.

Thanks for the reply!

I think it's this pic from Evilface? Looks to fit well enough.

I bought a loose Sideshow Boba and the tube was missing on his right arm, so might as well experiment a bit ;)

My V1 Fett was on a TT slim since almost the beginning, but this weekend I decided to get rid of the kermit green and the grey suit; I dyed the suit blue and repainted all greens and oranges following the Dented Helmet templates. Now I'm pretty satisfied with my Boba:

I just need a magnifier to precisely add the blue to the chest insignia.

Hey gang, I have my exclusive version 1 Boba Fett for sale if anyone is interested. That’s the one with the light up base. $250 shipped in the USA.

Really nice job on the color palette. Looks superb. Why was it so hard for them to get the right colors on Boba? I mean we all have a good general idea of the palette. I have V1 and V2, and while the armor placement on V2 is better, the colors are still way off. The gaunts are really dark green, and the armor and helmet are still way too vibrant. You really nailed the colors in the repaint, the helmet looks so good it's night and day compared to the V1 or even V2. It actually LOOKS GOOD. It's a shame, because the right colors could've really taken this figure a lot farther.. and for a V2... I don't understand how it didn't happen.

This really makes me want to pick up a V2 and do this mod. Great work!

That looks great. How did you tighten the vest?

Thanks. I did a body swap along with chest armor mod mentioned a couple of years ago. Removing the plastic from behind the chest armor really helps.

Futzing also goes a long way with helping this one. I also repositioned the shoulder armor.

Chaka, that's a first rate futz/mod. Hard to believe that's the SS version as you made Fett look how he's meant to look. Congrats to a job well done.

Here are a few comparison pictures to the ESB Boba Fett film stills.

There is definately room to improve the helmet. It is just a tad bit too long it seems, doesn't flare out enough. The colouring is on point I think. Many thought it was too blue, like the pre ESB suit.

PS I have the worst luck with the bent range finder. I have it on my 1/4 Fett too. Ah well.

Does the prototype Fett use the same helmet as the ESB Fett's? It always looks a little more squashed.

I can't wait until someone does a decent ESB helmet, although I don't know how it can look green to anyone. It looks more blue or teal to me.

I still think that the version 1 sideshow Fett is my all time favorite 1/6 Fett. Not because he is the most accurate, but because he has been in my collection since he released and I have had so much fun over the years posing him and reposing him. He is always a great figure to throw into a new and exciting pose, and 100's of times people have seen him on my desk and commented on how amazing he looks. So accuracy isn't always paramount

Here, here millertime! I agree completely. I still have and enjoy this release for the reasons you mentioned. I feel the same about Sideshow's recent Luke Jedi deluxe figure. Like the Fett, it's been a blast to change it up and pose it. It may not be as "accurate" in many folks view, but it's a figure I still have and enjoy like the Fett.

That's what it's really all about my friend, Having fun with them. I had the hot toys ESB Fett and sold it. It was a great Fett but i'd grown so attached to my sideshow V1 that I couldn't stand the hot toys version.

Since Fett is so much in the forefront of everything again, I went back and had a look at this old Sideshow figure...still looks good to me.

On the hunt with Dengar....

Yes, it may pale by today's standard, especially after multiple HT releases, but I still have a place in the collection for this version (despite his aging body starting to get a little floppy with the limbs...heck, a condition I'm personally stating to relate to lol).

Anyone else still have this one tucked away in their collection?
