But thats the thing, JJ made the beginning of the story, he made Finn a janitor Oo
If the end of the Sequels was the Last Jedi, for me it would work as a masterpiece, RJ ending is way better than JJ in ROS.

For my part, i believe Trevorrow's take on the story would likely have helped a lot of fans disappointed by TLJ to accept most of Johnson's decisions.

One can never really tell if a unreleased movie can bring all the promises of a script it's based on, but if Trevorrow's episode 9 had, it would have been a very satisfying conclusion as it didn't try to correct TLJ but draw on it to conclude all story arcs.

Yeah this fixation just seems so damn childish to me. If people have a problem with the ST then the blame should be put on the actual writers and directors of those movies. But because Kennedy wore a "Force is Female" shirt once (the horror!) suddenly these people have made it their mission in life to attack her. Lol

It's way more than just that idiotic t-shirt. She handpicked the morons to make the awful movies she wanted and fired anyone who didn't go along with the program, she created that ridiculous story group, she scrapped all the original Galaxy's Edge plans and had them redone to suit her horrible trilogy, she ruined the OT characters in the name of almighty Rey(a misguided image of her own perceived self on screen), and when all the receipts were counted and she was proven a failure she did an interview and blamed her failures on not having any source material lol(which is a proven blatant lie). And thats just the stuff I can think of off the top of my head.

Favreau was brought in to clean up her mess and stop the bleeding, which he promptly did. She deserves no credit for his success.

For some reason I was convinced the Jedi wouldn’t be Luke (really thought it would be Cal from fallen order which would’ve been cool too) but dam It was amazing. If he does come back in a more prominent role he’ll prob be recast. I think another interesting option would be a clone wars style animated series with him and grogu as a connective story until mando inevitably reunites with him in live action.

PS- anyone know where I can get a good quality 1/6 scale hooded cloak for my Luke MMS 516?

My money is on the fact that Thrawn will be the D+ Star Wars series equivalent to Thanos at some point, with an ensemble film which draws together some of the cast from each D+ show in an event film or series. Even if he's the main antagonist in the Ahsoka series (which I expect), it seems like he's very much a good option for that.

Furthermore, I think it'd be a wasted opportunity not to do an Star Trek-TOS series-esque Thrawn show exploring the unknown regions. He's a character with a lot of depth worth exploring.

Fun seeing this thread come back. The appearance of Luke in the Mando finale was a great moment. Haven't felt a good SW moment on screen in a long time. R1 gave a good thrill, but the sequel trilogy just imploded into a big mess. I'm a little nervous that all of those D+ series announcements might result in the same overkill that happened with the movies, so I'll just enjoy The Mandalorian as long as Favreau and Filoni remain the guiding hands.

In the meantime, took a new look at HT Luke tonight...it's a good figure.

I'm sure there will be the inevitable "Mando" version of him coming from Hot Toys based on his appearance. Here's hoping HT sees fit to include an updated Grogu along with the figure....

I hate this version, the fat suit in conjunction with that soulless HS just killing the figure. at least to me - that's why I bought the deluxe version with Endor stuffs, much more better. Definitely looking forward to Mando's Luke with entirely black attire.

Awesome pic. :clap

Thanks! It was fun taking another look at this one. It sure was a polarizing release though....

I picked up that version too. And yes, not having the fat suit on the base body definitely helps the figure's appearance. I hope the Mandalorian-inspired version leaves it off as well.

I took this guy off the shelf thinking I would drop the cloak on him--but then I remembered I never soaked the cloak or anything. SDo,. a couple of years later, what's the verdict on those who soaked their cloaks? What exactly did you do and, if you left the cloak on full time, did your soak help you avoid staining?

Indeed. I recently reposed mine from an action pose wielding his lightsaber with his tunic on on Jabba’s barge, to just a static DSII pose holding his lightsaber with the flap on the suit open to break up the all black a bit. It’s given me a new appreciation and liking for the figure.

While not perfect, I think it’s a fun figure. The sculpt can look a bit awkward but I get the expression HT was going for on it, as Luke had that expression often in RotJ and it sets it apart from the other sculpts. I don’t feel confident with removing the fat suit, but luckily it doesn’t bother me too much. It’s slightly puffy, but can be concealed obviously with the cloak on, and kind of concealed without the cloak if you pose the figure at an angle and not facing straight on.

The kid who played Luke?s body double has a very young Hamill look. Plus he?s only 5?7? so he?s almost perfect for a young Luke if they decide to make a series or just another cameo.

Great scene and a great redemption for my favorite character.

For sure. It was cool to see Luke get his “beast mode” moment that depicted just how powerful he became after RotJ. We saw Yoda have such moments in the PT, same with Obi-Wan, and Vader in R1. So it was nice to see Luke get his.

Both the toothy head Endor version and sideways glance head/DX version of this figure DO have fatsuits - they are just slightly more contoured on the torso (pecs area) and thinner on the legs versus the first release.

Why is she listed as executive producer if she?s not associated or deserved of the Mandalorian success?

Where?s your proof she single handedly decided to characterize the OT characters in the ST? She hired the directors but she didn?t tell them what to create or write.

Galaxys edge was going to capitalize on the ST popularity, at the time it made the best business sense since this was before the fan division over the ST.

?While working on The Lion King (2019), a photo-realistic remake of the 1994 animated film, in 2017, director Jon Favreau pitched an idea he had for a Star Wars television series to Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy. Kennedy suggested Favreau discuss the idea with Dave Filoni, executive producer on the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels.[32]?

"Kathy Kennedy and Lucasfilm came up with the idea — it wasn't mine — of an episodic Star Wars series called The Mandalorian, done by Jon Favreau."

So you can thank Kennedy for suggesting/permitting Favreau to talk with Filoni.

She may be an excellent producer and what's now coming to Diney+ is to put to her credit. Still, she is clearly lacking a real passion for the (Star Wars) licence. She's be around long enough to "know" Star Wars but not to "understand" Star Wars. At least now how a lot of fans "see" Star Wars. She managed the sequel as a brand, trying to make it profitable as quickly as possible and make it appealing to an audience as wide as possible. They put all the ingredients needed for a Star Wars movie in the sequel but they lacked the chef(s) that new the recipe to make it taste good.

She got involved in quite a few storms as well (Trank, Edwards/Gilroy, Lord/Miller, Trevorrow). She either put her faith in the wrong people or failed to clearly state what she was after in those projects and was unable to fall on the same page with those directors.

Botching the three icons (Han, Luke and Leia) send off is a stain on her r?sum? that will take a lot of effort to be forgotten/forgiven... and that's coming from a fan that appreciated 5 out of the 6 movies released under her watch.

Oh I agree.

I think she does not understand the franchise and did make mistakes with the initial films in her choices of good directors, just not good SW directors.

She has clearly learned from those mistakes while still trying to open SW to a more diverse crowd and away from the white male hero aspect. And white male fan aspect.

It?s a business move that backfired. Not it?s on course correction.

All this is under her watch .......like it or not.

I have the DX and am gonna grab a robe for mine. Do you guys suggest the stock robe from the HT, the SS, or a custom robe? For the HT, did any of you have to wash it?

I suggest the HT one. The sideshow is nice but I think the hood is too big for Luke. It?s more the same size as the prequel hoods which were way bigger than Luke?s cloak hood. It?s got a decent material but doesn?t drape well because of the wires. Plus it tends to fray a lot and the strings showing can be annoying on display.

The medicom one is actually really nicely tailored but the material is too thick and looks more like polar fleece.

The HT one is tailored nice, drapes well because of the material and weight, and the hood seems to be properly sized. Several people here have had to wash it with a gentle dish soap to get out some of the excess dye but I haven?t done that to mine yet and it seems fine.

That body double looks too much like Justin bieber to be seriously considered as a new Luke Skywalker.

I'm in the Sebastian Stan camp...at 38 he'd be perfect as an older more mature version after the evets of ROJ...

Yeah, I would have definitely preferred Stan to the CGI golem.
