"Hello black-cloaked stranger whom I've never seen before in my whole entire life. You a Jedi? Cool cool. Here's the baby. Nah, I don't need your contact info or references or anything." :lol

:lol If you watched a little kid summon a giant blue energy field to call out to a wizard somewhere across the galaxy and then a wizard actually shows up to rescue the kid by taking out a couple dozen assassin droids like they're nothing... I wouldn't expect you to then ask him for his credentials. ;)

:lol

I was not as bothered by it as both of you.. I figured at the time Fett was playing nice..

I think I found ajp reason for it being fine.. Im not sold on that logic for that being the reason to allow such an ass kicking but we do what we have to to keep our love for SW going :lol ajp reason is as good as any though... I'll go with it. :lol

When Fett uses something like a lasso, you know he's trying not to be lethal. He's pulling his punches, and that's not how he's most effective.

His endgame in this was to be a big-time crime boss. Risking doing any real harm to the Koska chick would risk creating a fued with Bo-Katan's clan. It would also risk Din joining up with Bo and using her ship instead.

Boss Fett doesn't need pissed off do-gooders with a vendetta against him. As crime boss, he'll have more than enough targets on his back. What he accomplished in these last two episodes was to keep certain other big targets off of him in the future. I think everything he was doing would've been while mindful of a means to an end. A significant end.

You're right that a single face reveal only in the finale would've likely made it a bigger deal, but each of the two reveals made a different statement.

The first face reveal was Din being a pragmatist by taking the helmet off to complete the mission and even have a chance to rescue the kid. The second time was Din being a dad; no pragmatism involved. I think there's value in showing that he was willing to do it both when he *had* to (in Chapter 15) and when he *chose* to (in Chapter 16).

It's not like the previous episode had him remove the helmet just to take a dump or something. :lol Both times were effective because they showed him breaking his oath for different reasons. But both being ultimately because of how much he cares about Grogu's well being.

But yes, meaningful interactions with a puppet baby continues to defy logic and is a pretty remarkable achievement.

He revealed his face in Season 1 too... to IG-11. So three reveals. Two times because he had to.

True. His removing it in this last episode when he didn't have to is still set apart from when he has no real choice.

I think the point a-dev was making is that having Din take the helmet off in the chapter prior to the finale stole some of the thunder from this one with Grogu. I can see why he feels that way, but still also see some value in how they did it last week.

Truthfully, the final reveal would have been the best way to reveal Din for the first time.

I'm not sure the audience, or Pedro, could have lasted that long though.

Fair, but now he doesn't even have an email address for Grogu so I don't know how he expects to make good on his promise.

True, one of many areas where he's shown to be quite incompetent. And yes, he wasn't using lethal means because he was clearly terrified it would escalate and get him killed. He's not the best, but he's not necessarily stupid. He knows his limits when faced by a total badass and clear superior like Koska Reeves. :lecture

It's very true that he was also very afraid of Din (hence ever negotiating with him for the armour) and Bo-Katan's clan, but it's a long list, Boba Fett's fears. At this point it's splitting hairs.

Boss Fett doesn't need pissed off do-gooders with a vendetta against him.

Well rightly so, given he doesn't want to get his ass handed to him yet again. :duff

As crime boss,

You may want to look at your spell-check calibration. You keep misspelling 'crying boss' but don't worry, I know what you mean. ;)

Well, he clearly doesn't want to fight people he's very scared of, and who can blame him? And at least now he's got a hide-out in the palace where Fennec can protect him while he thinks about old times when people incorrectly believed he was a badass. Smart move shooting poor Bib Fortuna, who saw him get whupped over the Sarlacc pit.

I'm glad we got this cleared up. :duff

Agreed, and it also contributes to eroding his cult indoctrination bit by bit, so it'll be more believable when he abandons it entirely. Long game.

Nope. Still basking in the glow of Boss Fett. Like I'm cloaked in beskar, your blaster shots merely ricocheting off the armor. The pinging sound is actually soothing.

;)

Why did Fett have to do any of this? Why didn't he just take his armor... and go shoot Boss Fortuna?

Dude, have you learned nothing from Bond villains? ;)

You don't just go from point A to point B. You gotta stretch things out... move the pawns around just for show when checkmate is right there for the taking.

Okay yeah, Fett should've taken that armor long before Mando ever set foot on Tatooine in this show. :lol

my theory is that there is an even bigger reveal this season than ahsoka. Thus, disney spilled the beans early on her to throw everyone off and kept the real big reveal a secret. Otherwise, why would they spoil ahsoka? Show was hyped up enough... There has to be an even bigger debut planned... And there would be nothing bigger than luke skywalker.

Another keen observation! Cobb Vanth was too scary to go up against for the armour, and there was no Grogu to use as sneaky, underhanded and cowardly leverage.

I love how we're on the same page here! :rock

How is nobody talking about the ST being retconned? Y’all think Disney gonna have Grogu slaughtered lmao :lol:lol:lol

Or just be completely ignored?

New ST is being planned as I type and it all starts with Mando, CGI Luke, and Grogu.

REJOICE THE TRASH ST SHALL SOON BE DEAD!

Do you hate JYE? Seriously, are you trying to make him self-delete? :monkey3

Fett was completely ruined.

Absolutely horrible just horrible.

My Fett doesn't need Mulan doing his dirty work for him when he arrives at a job.

My Fett doesn't honor commitments he only has double crosses and only honors himself.

My Fett doesn't say "Just be safe" unless he is double crossing.

He could've had his way with the Mando mission and still went and claimed his new throne at the end.

meh he was bested by lame single small Mandalorian.

You think Fett was ruined but somehow not the OT heroes in the ST?

HO-LY...CRAP.

That was some of the most awesome AND most infuriating SW that I could have asked for. :lol

I kid you not when the X-Wing showed up I felt the hate swelling in me as I anticipated another Filoni cameo. I am NOT kidding, lol. So imagine the turn around at the actual reveal! :thud:

As for the infuriating I liked everything about Fett except for his one showdown ARE YOU KIDDING ME. WHY????? Seriously WHY?????? Of all the two-bit nobody characters for him to spar with and lose, WHY HER?!???? Not Mando, not Bo Katan, not even Cara. SOME STUPID LACKEY CHICK WHO DOESN'T EVEN HAVE A NAME?!?!? FAVREAU DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA WHAT YOU'VE DONE HERE? Well I'm going to see that that nail you right to the wall here. RIGHT TO THE WALL. :gah: :banghead

He didn?t lose... it was a draw...

The greatest ending I have ever seen on a TV show. I couldn't be more grateful to Favreau for making this happen.

You are going to be waaaay more grateful when Disney announces the ST being retconned and Favreau helms up the new trilogy with Din, Grogu, Luke, etc...

Honestly this episode might have served as the greatest act of healing across all contingents of the fandom, lol.

For ST haters you got your "Luke in his prime post-OT" moment.
For PT haters we got a redemption of Jango Clone Fett.
For dismayed Fett fans from the OT he now reigns as king.
For ST fans who were shocked that the new trilogy led off with barely a word on how the FO randomly rose from the ashes of the Empire now we have a better picture of how that happened. They even threw in some references to Force-sensitive clone experimentation to set the stage a bit for TROS Palps.
TCW/Filoni fans got their due, just so much yes "fan service" spread around but in an organic way that served the story.

What an accomplishment.

I'm now trying to imagine an alternate universe where Disney bought SW and then led off with maybe RO and then went right into Mando. Then TFA. I imagine people having such an easier time accepting the events of the ST having already gotten satisfied with the return of Luke and a remnant Empire screwing around with Force clones. And for new generations of fans going forward that's how they'll get to watch the story play out if they so choose.

lol

You think this is gonna save the ST??? :lol:lol:lol

It is over for the ST. It is done. It is being retconned after this finale. You think Disney gonna keep Rey in the way of Grogu and Luke?s story? LMAO!

That episode was arguably the greatest Star Wars content since ESB and it is 10000x better and more popular than the ST.

ST IS FINISHED!

JOOOOOOYYYYYYY TO THE WOOOORLLLLLDDDDDD!

i am a ****ing genius

I probably wasn't as confident as you but I did feel it was a decent possibility after Grogu sent up the signal. Anybody else besides Luke answering the bell would have been too disappointing. But I have to admit that when that door was being banged down I was waiting for Grogu to pull off something miraculous until I saw the X-wing. Loved Cara Dune's reaction to it :lol
