I didn't really like this much initially, but having seen Prime 1's, this has grown on me. It's more accurate, the acid burns on the base look real as opposed to P1's cartoon style. I still don't love the pose or base, but both are better than P1's imo. Shame production won't be a similar story, that's where Prime 1 will have the edge.

I don't like it at all. Pose makes it look like a badly posed Hot Toys doll. I wish I could take the base and put the Prime 1 piece on it :lol

Beesub, the artist who sculpted the statue says they've reduced the size of the base since its first reveal at Tokyo Comic Con. Not sure which one he's referring to relative to San Diego last July, but I suppose we'll find out soon.

Warrior starts at around the 5:00 mark...

Sculpt looks excellent in profile, feels more accurate. Not that the Prime 1 is super off, but there is kind of a stylized "CG-ish" element to its proportions. I remember seeing some of their artist's other Alien models several years ago and while his current work is quite beautiful, he continues to avoid the man-in-a-suit vibe that I've come to associate with the Warrior. That and the Prime 1 pose feels like it's going to topple over with its legs spread and its head leaning so far forward.

My worries with the CoolProps come down to execution:
• Overall paint app quality, though they seem to be improving with each release. They even revisited the Scar and Wolf busts to separate their dreadlocks and repaint the faces, which is a good sign.
• Too much lacquer getting into the grooves of the sculpt and softening their appearance. Then again, the Warriors on screen looked particularly slimy.
• Cheek tendon seams on the closed-mouth head
• Dark color of the tongue

Cost is another issue. We can assume it'll be close to what Prime 1 are charging, but I feel like CP need all the money they can get to overcome their weaknesses and put out a truly outstanding piece.

Man, come on, CoolProps, release your Warrior already...so I can compare...then I can pull the trigger on either Prime 1 or CoolProps.

This will be my last Alien 1/3 statue...as I only have room for three.

I have the CoolProps Giger Maquette, Prime 1/CoolProps Dog Alien...and the Warrior is to be determined...so I can complete my Trinity.

No, not getting the Prime 1 Big Chaps...as I wanted the replica from the Giger Museum.

Man, this is hard work!

:lol

CoolProps is improving with each product. Their Warrior heads were painted like crap...but then the Covenant head came up...and that one is a beauty.

Remember that Mamegyorai are likely making one also, just to make your decisions even harder...

Sadly their paint apps and QC are even farther behind CoolProps. Their Big Chap sculpt is the best I've ever seen, but I can't say I'm holding my breath for future products after how he turned out.

Mamegyorai announced their line up 3-4 years ago...and only have produced the bent down Big Chap so far. And that one with its head/dome issues and super high price tag at that. Nah, Mamegyorai is nowhere in my line of sight, they are out of the running for me.

The 1/3 Warrior war is strictly between Prime 1 and CoolProps.

Interesting.. I always associate the Alien Warrior with the Puppet used. When I think of the man-in-a-suit from aliens I think of the black body suits with alien pieces glued onto it.

I'll be going with the p1. I quite like the diorama style. I prefer the acid burn on the cp. But in my opinion cp looks like a toy pose. And their history of paint being over the top or non existent I'll go with prime1. I prefer their chap too since it is based on the film suit not the museum statue. Plus it actually has paint apps. I do think it is smarter to do little to no paint than to do what they were doing with the lifesize heads.

I guess analog is a better way to describe it. I'd prefer anything that came out pre-1990 to feel more practical, even if less dynamic.

The Mamegyorai prototype is the most beautiful Alien collectible I've ever seen, the only thing holding it back is the fact that the paint apps don't even come close to justifying the price.

30 x 30 base is just too massive for me...my mancave is really small and is already maxed out.

The CoolProps has a narrower width on that base.

I think saying that it has a toy pose is nitpicking, they both have similar poses.

Also the lighting is different on both screen shots.

I?m not making a move until I see the CoolProps on Sideshow and see how much it is before I make a final decision on which Warrior I?m going with, especially since I have tons of Rewards Points, might get a good deal out of it. I doubt P1 will have it on Sideshow.

The CoolProps Giger maquette is awesome, you don?t know how awesome it is until you see one in person and actually have it in your room, it?s such an imposing statue. You don?t see too many of them on eBay, and if you do...well, it?s going for more than original price (although I really don?t care either way). The ones you see a lot for sale are the CoolProp heads, especially the Warrior..and the Sideshow Predator...as the P1 Jungle Hunter is coming...I?m getting that one for sure...one more payment to go, including the Victim Hunter Tree, Yeah, baby...

I just can't get on board with their high cost with no paint app. The cp museum statue is flat black with very little definition. It is missing the wrist cuffs and the elbow spikes.
The museum statue wasn't used in the film. There is a suit version but it isnt in the giger museum.
I would pay maybe 1k for the cp chap. And especially no more for the life size head for 1799? Nope. There isn't even paint apps.
I'm not sure why people keep giving cp a pass on their paint. It is literally terrible or non existent. Eh well to each their own.
The dog before p1 finished it was a very smoothed out minimal statue. Prime1 completed it and did the paint apps which are by far the best of any Alien.
The cp needs a repaint. Or it just looks flat and unfinished. I have a feeling their warrior will look good on the prototype but it will be very paint heavy in hand.
I do dislike the 30x30 base on the p1. The base was rushed out due to Disney taking the licence control. It is the size of the dog base which im okay with.
I do feel the cp one looks a bit toy like, the tubes seem too short and the ridgid wire above the mouth that wraps around is missing the ridges. It is a smooth tube.
On these statues it is important to nitpick. Because they cost like 2k.....
