What's the best way to go about taking out the wire in the cape? Thinking about grabbing this. I think it looks great, my only gripe really being the pants look off to me.

Is the wire that big of an issue when it comes to staining? With all the issues with their glue and dye staining, I don't put it past Hot Toys to use a wire that would do that same, but that seems like quite the mission to remove it from the cape.

I mean maybe they changed the way they did the wiring on them or something from now on, but i never pose them, we will see

Took it from the center-rear in case there was any fraying. Came out nice and clean.

Now to recycle them into my Jawa hoods.

Awesome, thanks for the pics Paul.

Do you think you could post a pic of how the cape hangs now without the wire ?

P.S good idea for re-use on the Jawas !!

Great reference pic! Did you create an exit hole or just force the end of the wire through?

Also does anyone know if the wire in Han's shirt looked like this? I am wondering if there is any chance HT switched to wires which won't rust?

Also would like to know this. I definitely don't trust myself to get a wire like that out without damaging the cape, or to be happy with how it rests without the wire styling it properly, so I'm hopeful it's not necessary to take it out.

The prevailing theory on the Han shirt is that the glue played a bigger part in the yellowing, the wire did seem to get corroded though. Some people's Bruce Wayne tuxedo shirt also turned yellow and that had no wire just glue.

I?ll post a shot after I get water-treatment or 2 in.

I worked the end of the wire until it popped out between the stitching so no damage and no hole was made.
I don?t have Han but this is copper wire. It would/could oxidize over time, especially in humid climates. Unless they used treated wire, but I doubt HT sprung for that.

OK cool. I wonder if an electrical copper wire with a white plastic coat would work if you really wanted a wire in there ?

On the other hand, I guess if you want the wire in there, and it does go a bit yellow over time it'd be pretty easy to weather the cape ends with a light bit of black Tamiya weathering powder.

I know didn't make it to the movie, but a cape has got to be pretty dirty always dragging on the ground.

Thanks for confirming! Copper wire definitely has to go.

Thank you for posting this. Definitely going to remove the cape on my Krennic. I never have liked wires in soft goods, even on Black Series figures. I find when there's no wire in a cape or cloak it settles naturally and looks nicer.

Yeah wires in superhero capes is one thing, but Krennic's cape isn't one I'd really want to have flowing dramatically in the wind. Letting it hang down naturally seems like the better way to go, especially after a water treatment.

What type of glue it?s recommended to glue hot toys metallic fabric pieces, i.e tarkin for example? does krennic have anything similar?
