I really hope Asmus is really selling the head seperate because so far I resisted ordering the whole figure...owning v1 already. But i absolutely need this head for my collection. Good job

Asmus mentioned a while back that they will be offering the head separately once these are ready. I have the Crown version on pre-order to add to my Fellowship display, but also want to get an extra head to replace my original Asmus GTG to display with Bilbo and Thorin! :rock

SSC delay notice for my PO until July. Not upset as own Gandalf v1 and world circumstances. Plus ASMUS is outdoing themselves again. Anyway Thorin is my favorite Middle Earth character and he's outstanding - own more than one.

Not to mention my recent superb MOS. A good time to work on my collection and displays. Thankfully Amazon and others can ship tools and supplies.
Maybe I will make Bilbo a bench. Haven't even had time to cut my Chirrut staff down that I got months ago.

Update from the Asmus FB page -

The Crown Series of Gandalf is ON THE WAY[emoji41]
It is a long and slow production, at the moment a single worker manages to produce only 3 pcs per day.
We also inspect the quality strictly as this is what matters the most.

We know all of you cannot wait to meet him, so does Asmus Team!

:clap This is awesome!

What about Saruman? Would you be able to see that he had turned to the dark side by his color in the Twilight Zone?

And what would Sauron look like? Could you actually see his corporeal form? Or would he be a different colored giant eyeball?

I'm sure the folks at Weta actually worked out answers to these questions, even if they never planned to film scenes where these things happened. They're nothing if not thorough!

It would be interesting to see an interpretation of what Sauron would look like, especially since he was originally no different than Gandalf and Saruman before falling under the influence of Morgoth.

Sauron, Saruman and Gandalf are all Maia so they?re essentially spirits that can take the form of whatever they like. Gandalf looks like an old man with a beard because he chooses that physical form.
In the twilight world, I think Saruman for example, would look like a dark entity compared to a twisted looking mortal man like the witch king. Who knows though, I love this stuff lol

There is a very brief look at Sauron's true form in the deleted scenes. They originally had him revealing himself at The Battle of the Black Gate but swapped him out to the armoured cave troll that Aragorn fights instead.

Is that from The Hobbit? I still haven’t watched the deleted scenes on those films.

While it would have been interesting to see, Sauron was not able to take fair form since he lost his second (think his first was unmade by Luthien?) physical body in the Fall of Numenor.

Close but Saruman and Gandalf are Istari which are Maiar spirits enrobed and bound to a physical form. While in this incarnated form they are bound to Arda and cannot change raiment or utilize the full power of their nature. When they complete their assigned task they can shed this mortal shell and again be fully restored in power except for Saruman aka Curunir who like Sauron made his own spirit infused ring of power and when the one ring was destroyed became merely a powerless shadow.

After a long time away from this forum, I see I missed the update on the new Gandalf headsculpt. That rooted hair looks awesome! I'm really looking forward to this. I have a full figure on order, but if everything but the head is the same, then I might look into the head-only option.
