Yeah my waitlist converted too, but I'm glad to see this and Yoda are actually up for preorder again. I hope they do this more often for popular figures that sell out relatively quick.

Agreed. So long as it doesn?t cause them to delay other releases by much.

I wish SS was getting more of the regular version in instead. Don't care for the extra accessories at all, they'll never leave the box.

Now that they charge tax, that's nearly how much the deluxe is on SS after shipping.

Probably depends a little on where you are - I'm seeing $312 shipped from Sideshow, including taxes. But in any case you find the deluxe for $300 shipped right now - even MISB.

Hello,

I am from Europe (Czech Republic) and currently only available Boba Fett ESB for pre-order is from Sideshow in the US ... but that means high shipment and import taxes. Do you think other suppliers except SS will have this figure for pre-order or it is exclusive for SS this time? (I asked local supplier and they have no idea if will be available)

So what should I do?
- Wait some time if local vendors will have it?
- Preorder from SS now for about 15-20% more expensive
- Buy ROTJ Boba Fett now (regular version - found it in stock in one store) for about the same price (as deluxe ESB)?

(I just want one Boba Fett figure in my collection, alongside Han Solo in Carbonite)

Thank you for help!

I actually have the ROTJ version which I prefer when it comes to color of the armor and all. After seeing the ESB version in hand. The proportions are better. So much that I need this one to make my main Fett.
I would pay the extra to get it from sideshow guaranteed if I were in your shoes.

The helmet shape is all kinds of wrong and is only passable when viewed from the front. SS made a better attempt with their Mythos version...

Ugh, that SCC Mythos version has the T/squint right but it's off in other ways - cheeks are all wrong (too shallow/not angled enough, have hard sculpted line etc.) I even contemplated returning it, but the return shipping didn't make it worthwhile. Don't need another "kinda right/kinda wrong" Fett helmet.

Honestly, I've just about given up believing there will ever be a truly accurate 1/6 Fett helmet.:gah: I mean at the point that both HT and SSC have had TWO shots at getting it right and have failed, you know you're in trouble. The fact that the best helmets out there are 15+ years old is not a good thing.

I agree with both of you about the helmet inaccuracies, but I really like the Mythos bucket as a ROTJ custom. The cheeks don?t bother me as much as I thought they would. I still wish they would get it right.

*rewatches ESB*

Hmmm, this is up for PO again. In order to avoid heartburn later, we'd better preorder this while we can, right self?

Right, boss! *enter the latest NRD email notification, yay*

DAMN IT

I still don't like the gloves on this figure, too puffy and plastic-y looking.... I wonder if some gloves from Mythos would work. [I am not a stickler for 100% screen accuracy.] However past experience has shown me that in-hand things can seem much different. He definitely will not be wearing those red gloves.

To me the Mythos ones have the "lady fingers" issue that occasionally crops up on SSC figs' hands (Biker Scout was another one) where the fingers are a bit too delicate/skinny, especially for gloved hands. The color is also not quite right for ESB or ROTJ Fett, though that's easy enough to fix.

Fett's hands for some reason have proved tough to match for 1/6 companies. Both HT versions (same mold) have been terrible - soft sculpt, shiny, meh paint - whereas original Sideshow ones weren't too bad, if slightly too fat sculpt-wise. The paint on the V.1 SSC gloves wasn't great, but they improved apps a lot on V.2.

The HT hands would likely be improved with a brushing of matte clear and a subtle weathering wash to punch up any sculpt detail.

The best I've found are the Marmit gloves or the hands from the Hasbro faux-"vintage" Fett that came out maybe 15 years ago (that's pretty cheap loose on eBay.)

HT does not do really well with any gloved hands, in my relatively small experience. Although I prefer the fingers too delicate as opposed to oven mitts.

I was already thinking that a black or grey wash and some Testors Dullcote may help Fett's gloves a bit.

Here ya go with the SS Mythos gloves, rifle & knife. Also used those boot covers to hide the gap between the hands and the forearms.
