TOD went full retard with that raft and mine cart scene.

TOD one extreme to the other super dark and super goofy.

Goofy in a bad way.

Raiders is just right.

Rolling boulder and Ark of the covenant > Raft and mine cart.

Indy looks great in it, love the Pankot Palace feast and rope bridge sequence.

The rest - aged Velveeta.

Good to know its holding up... I am waiting for the 4K release on Blu Ray... I thought about going again but wanted it to be a bit more fresh for my first home viewing.

I saw this (for the 6th time) on MLK Day, and not only does it still hold up for me too, but I actually had my most "emotional" reaction to it that I've had since the first viewing. Curious. Isn't it?
I'm taking my three kids to see it (again) tomorrow.

Sorry to interrupt everyone's Indiana Jones talk. Carry on.

Don't forget the Nazi monkey. He ratted out Indy's girl after he saluted Hitler and said heil Hitler (in monkey language).

I saw Raiders when I was 11. That film had as much of an impact on me as Star Wars did. That summer everything was a Raiders quote.
“What’s for dinner?”
“Meatloaf”
“Meatloaf. Why did it have to be meatloaf?”
“Dad bought a new truck!”
“Truck? What truck.”
“Meet me at grandmas, I’m going after that bus.”
“How?”
“I don’t know I’m making it up as I go.”
Man I love that movie!

If only that movie would've been made - the concept art looks really awesome. First they meddle with RO, then SOLO, then TROS, now apparently they just sent the entire Obi-Wan show team home for rewrites.

I saw the concept arts. Though some ideas were cool, I am sure there would have been still whining if those were made in the movie:

How can a Japanese tradition be known in a galaxy far away?
Why did they perform executions like in France?
How can ghost Luke interact with a real life object?
How can such a massive destroyer hover above a planet?
How did Hux get the purple lightsaber, we need explanation.
When did Rey construct her lightsaber? Damn, they should have shown it on screen.
Why do we visit Poe's home planet?
Why did they use Coruscant again and again? We need more unique planets.
Rey against a giant Rancor? What a lazy move.
Rey's costume like ROTJ Luke, lazy design.
If Valum is the one who trained Palpatine, how did Vader bring balance by killinh Emperor while a more powerful Sith entity is alive?
Etc.

In summary, complaints won't end with SW no matter what.

That Trevorrow cut sounds horrible why people are excited for it is beyond me.

But how could JJ NOT give us an epic space battle in the concluding chapter.

And people are carrying on like Tor Vallum would have been the "new main bad guy." He wasn't though. He was basically an evil version of Yoda who would have had Kylo fight Darth Vader in a cave them learn how to drain the life from others. Kylo was then going to drain Tor Vallum's life and kill the 7,000 year old Sith teacher before heading off to Mortis.

Which of course would raise all kinds of questions, namely why hadn't Palpatine himself done that decades prior and so on.

Otherwise the "main villains" were just going to be same old Kylo, Hux, and apparently Phasma (lol.)
