That's fair criticism, especially given the price.

Not sure what's going on with Prime 1. Lost their US distributor, prices going up, delays, no communication with customers, no global shipping.... doesn't look good.

Prime 1 have always had delays, and not much in the way of communication with customers. So there nothing has really changed since day 1.

And other than a couple of licences like Jurassic Park, and Transformers they can ship to a lot of countries except for the US. And supposedly going forward new Transformers pieces will be available worldwide, including the US.

And though they have parted ways with Sideshow, I believe they already have a new US partner. But of course no one has the reach of Sideshow, not just for US domestic, but worldwide. Sideshow made it cheaper and easier to collect through their distribution deal with Popcultcha here in Australia. A lot of the times, we could get the regulars for cost shipped. But now it's significantly more than it was through Popcultcha, but more or less similar as to order directly through Sideshow.

And price wise they have certainly being going up in leaps and bounds recently. But for years, their prices didn't really fluctuate that much. So they're now playing catch up with Sideshow's price increases these past few years.

I think they've got too many licences on the go so obviously quality decreases, all companies just want to produce more and cut production costs wherever possible. I agree that their communication and delays have always been an issue.

According to sideshow my last payment on the WW 1/4 scale n52 is on 5th November, I'm not even budgeting for that as I know it won't be this year! Strangely enough it's unavailable on prime 1s website and the reg isn't there...

All the New 52 pieces show as unavailable on the P1 site. Four of them are available at Sideshow.

Thanks, is that some kind of exclusivity deal? I'm really looking forward to her but the delays are part of the game I guess

Could someone share the in-hand pictures of this piece?

Saw some pics of this on the other forum, glad I didn't waste a lot of money on it as the portrait paint has taken a downgrade IMO reminds me of the training outfit piece, I don't know if prime 1 are rushing their pieces now? Also having real hair on the horse but not on ww looks odd. Sorry to dump on it but this is a lot of money we're talking about and I expected more

Gonna have to agree. I don't think this looks remotely as good as the proto. P1 does seem to be slipping quality a bit. I still have the Justice League WW on PO so hopefully that turns out alright. The hair on the horse looks bad...barbie doll bad IMO. They should have just sculpted that the same way WW's is. Such a weird choice to have it be real. For that price, I also feel like it should have looked better. I was pretty stoked about my JL WW PO but I'm starting to become a little luke warm. Not cancelling but I may resell if it shows up and isn't what I expect.

Yeah, the pictures quality is not good enough to say the paintjob is far from the proto. The hair of the horse is far from fix though

Those photos were probably taken as he was assembling the piece (most were put up on the Prime 1 Facebook group).

So the collector probably didn’t give themselves the time or effort to play around with the hair of the horse before taking shots and uploading them.

True, but they should both be either sculpted or rooted IMO. A lot of people have been noticing a decline in quality and even with those poor pics it's clear that the portrait isn't close to the proto

Still gonna wait for more pics with better lighting and less lens distortion. But it?s good to be cautious. As someone who is now mere dollars from being priced out of this entire hobby, there?s just no reason not to expect perfection or near perfection with this stuff.

Yeah this and the final paint on the Training WW have me feeling concerned about my Ultimate WW as well, as the production paint seems to be a lot more basic and lacks much of the subtle shading and variation in skin tone that the protos had.

I totally agree, I still think it will look impressive in hand and the scale alone is nice. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to own this, the price just has to warrant the quality. If the paint matches the proto then I'd be more inclined to overlook the horse hair

Exactly, the proto of this piece looked like the best likeness to me (bar the 1:1 busts) but the finished paint job is increasingly iffy from P1. Fingers crossed the JL one will turn out good for you, I saw some factory pics that looked promising, but obviously not as good as proto. I just don't want P1 to turn into sideshow where we know we're not getting a paint finish anywhere like the proto. Is part of the reason I stick to comic pieces

Same man. I have latched on to the Iron Studios 1/10 scale because they are affordable lol. The new pricing on anything 1/4 or higher is just crazy these days. I've also noticed recently that I can't sell a lot of my older statues for anything close to retail. Something I could have probably flipped for a profit a couple years ago is now not even fetching retail value. The sheer saturation of new statues in the market is killing resell value. I know it's not about flipping and I definitely never buy for that but it would be nice to get retail back when you need to sell something. That along with the insane prices is pretty much pushing me towards selling a lot of what I already own and just not doing much buying in the future. I'm about 80% out of the collecting game at this point...

Hi guys, received the 3rd box today. First 2 boxes came in on Friday. I did a quick assembly. The hair is not fixed yet. Just wanted to share a few pics out of the box. It’s huge and looks incredible.
