I am not happy about this at all. I didn't give up nearly $2000 for 20 months on a whim. I really wanted this piece. For me, this iteration of the Alien is perfect in every way, and it looks incredible, but I had pointedly asked Sideshow if I just re-order and go back in the queue since the piece was still in production and they never responded. All I got back from them was "here's your shipping label", so I made my decision. I don't think I'd want to go through this again anyway. Oh well.

Sideshow told me from day one that they had no replacement parts. They'll have some now for others, but I hope others don't need them, and I am happy for those who got what they paid for: A perfect and professionally made product.

I cancelled mine this week sadly. Bit of a bummer after waiting so long. It wasn't due to all of the damages however, although that made my decision a little easier. I just needed funds for the real world and this had to be sacrificed. It didn't help also that there are three expensive statues incoming that I think I need more than this. Prime 1's P1, P2 and Big chap. I will however re-order this down the line if funds allow..... I maintain that it's one of the best Alien statues ever produced.

Still have not cancelled. I really do not want to. But these issues with buyers has me worried for such a huge and pricey piece.
I also have the P1 Big Game Jungle Hunter and Victim maquette on preorder...that one is a must have...I mean...you get Four heads...FOUR, wow.

I managed to bring most of the alien parts of the statue home, and I've gone over them all carefully. They are not perfect. In total, I found about a half dozen very small paint nicks, each about 1-2 mm in diameter. They appear to be damage after the piece was painted. I can and will fix them myself with some glossy brown paint, but at this price point I shouldn't have to. To me, these tiny blemishes aren't worth returning the piece, and I am still glad I bought it. I hope Prime 1 tightens up their QC, because these marks should have been caught and fixed at the factory.
Tomorrow I will bring home the rest of the pieces of the statue, so I will give an update on whether the hands sit flush with the base or not. My overall impression of the statue so far is that it is super impressive and gorgeous, but with the minor letdown of some QC issues that are only noticeable from less than a foot away.

Hopefully the second batch will have better QC. I have seen this before with some of XM stuff that the second batch has been tweaked

I assembled my dog alien last night with one minor issue: the tail tip doesn't quite plug in fully. That said, it goes in far enough that it looks correct, so I'm not going to fuss over it. I certainly didn't want to force it. Other than that, all's well. The hands and feet sit flush on the base and the pieces all slotted together neatly. It is one mean-looking alien.

I?m still waiting for my refund from October 9th lol. My card number had changed in between the preorder and the final payment. Now sideshow says sorry we refunded it and Bank of America says sorry too long since you ordered it. I can see the final payment refunded but still missing $1600 ffs...

If it was $10 you might let it slide - but $1600 - yeah right!
They are quick enough to take their money back when THEY screw up in YOUR favour.
