Plans for a sequel were shelved when Disney acquired Star Wars. Look at the mess they made of that.

The figures themselves were disappointing. Kevin Flynn was a lacklustre release and the figure on the bike was essentially a statue. The bike itself is cool, my only gripe is that the spinning "engine" does not light up. If they had made Clu, Quorra or Sam Flynn as normal figures, the line would have done better.

I agree, the figure is a statue. However the bike is fantastic so i tried my hand at a custom sam flynn using the unhelmeted head, a ko body and a glow in the dark tape. See pics for results...im pretty happy with it.

Nice work robrod

I'm really sad HT dropped this line, and that Disney dropped the movies.

I was hoping for Rizler and his bike.
Totally agree. HT dropped the figures and SS dropped all their intent on a series of statues. The sad part is, with the new tech they're using on Black Panther's suit to make it glow depending on lighting without using LEDs would be great to come back to this license and make articulated figures. Except we know they won't do it.

Won't happen. My own plan to make custom figures was to make the outfits out of conventional fabrics. The lit areas would have been single layer to allow light to pass through. I had acquired some clear bodies and planned to install LEDs within the body itself. The wiring would have been the hardest part, so as not to impede the articulation. It's something i hope to get back to work on, but i have so many other projects on the go already.

Hi all, I know this is a really old thread that hasn't been added to in a while but I'm hoping someone will look in and can help me out! I just got a nice deal on a preloved Light Cycle with Sammy boy and I'm very happy. It didn't come with any batteries so I have been trying to replace them but the instructions are wrong! They say the bike uses AAA batteries when it actually uses AA size - that wasn't hard to figure out. Sam's body uses 3 x LR44 which was correct but it says the helmet uses 2 x AG9 which is not correct. The batteries seem to be the correct diameter but are way too thin to fill the battery chamber and are very loose. Perhaps it's meant to be 3 AG9's? These batteries were quite hard to find and when I did find them I had to get the Silver Oxide versions so they were quite expensive so I don't really want to go out to hunt down another one and find it still isn't right. Any thoughts or info would be appreciated.
Cheers, Lee

Here is my Sam Flynn custom with the Hot Toys Tron head and a Quicksilver Hot Toys body... I had to cut some under the chin, modifications inside the neck conector and done!

New Question...

Someone posted on a TRON Facebook group about the Sam & Lightcycle they had for sale and said they had done their research on it and one of the bits of info was that
Only 69 were produced?

I had not heard this before and feel that is quite a low number.

I was reading that post too!
i wonder how that person knew there were only 69?

Low is like 300 pieces...

Maybe the guy means 69 pieces in his country of origin.

I actually wish I had gotten one of these back in the day now.

Yeah me also.

Especially now that we are getting more Tron films and a kick butt new ride at Disneyworld.....

That looks insane.

Sent from the inside of a giant slug in outer space.....

I know nothing about this, but it has me excited. I really like the new Tron world.

Look up Disneyworld Shanghi Tron Light cycle coaster....

Insane. They started building on behind Space Mountain on WDW Florida.

That seems impossibly low.

I could see it being low numbers but not that low. It’s still one of my favorite pieces.

I missed the original PO from SS, but when they discovered 20 at the back of the warehouse in 2014, i jumped on it.
It was only $250...
But, yeah, 69 seems awfully low. I wonder if they could even have covered costs.

That's very unlikely, has to be at least a couple thousand if not many more. It's fairly unique, wasn't that expensive at the time, and it was at a time that the market wasn't as flooded with collectible stuff as it is now.
