Probably didn't help that neither Hot Topic nor Mondo's customer service were able to clarify the listing adding more confusion for some.

Either way Brock confirmed Hot Topic should have it by the end of the month.

im sorry if even one person bought one because of my comment. i really do have a good source that was a bit lead astray by someone he knew as well. so, my apologies. the good news is that HT has a simple return policy. i had to send mine back and it was free and easy. the funny part here is that I have a feeling HT is going to get bombarded by Skeletor returns and I doubt they will understand why. I'm talking about the managers in the warehouse and such. they will be scratching their heads as to why they are getting 15 skeletor returns every day for the next week.

i haven't seen anyone here discuss this, but these kinda have a lot of issues. im not going to go in depth just some quick thoughts for some of you who haven't gotten these. i just opened my EXs from Mondo for Skele and He man. not all roses.

1) the bases are an absolute nightmare. they don't hold up anything. these figures are HEAVY and the stand just collapse like matchsticks. they dont stay in the peg whatsoever. my skeletor fell over so i had to get a new stand for it. dont trust them.
2) paint on skeletor is sketchy at best. stains where the loin cloth sat on leg.
3) accessories are heavy af. skeletors arm won't stay up with staff. you need to prop it on the ground.
4) possibility is pure trash. either the joints are tighter than hell or looser than hell. range of motion is limited.
5) he mans hands dont hold the shield or sword very good.
6) good luck with that shield.

they are good overall, but you need to temper expectations. this aint hot toys. grab a six pack....youll need it.

Not sure anyone was expecting anything like Hot Toys when the price point is nearly $100 cheaper.

The bases I don't really use as both figures are sturdy as hell and have no problems standing on their own, whatever the pose.

Not paint issues on my figures but I have seen the loincloth issue with Skeletor on the He-Man.org forums.

I agree with the articulation though. He-Man's feels way too tight and Skeletor is too loose, especially the wrists and legs. The Havoc Staff is way too top heavy so as a result Skeletor can't really hold it aloft in one hand without the wrists spinning around or just falling out completely. As a result I basically have him posed holding the staff with the bottom of it propped against the base so it looks somewhat decent.

Also yeah that shield was a nightmare.

After some time with both and messing around with them I've cooled considerably on the line and decided to pass on the rest until they can get it just right. I think the sculpt and designs are terrific and there's some really good stuff going on with these figures but the negatives just really bum me out.

totally agree. im not out on the line as of yet, but that Hot Topic skeletor...nah. way too many issues to double dip on a glow in the dark gimmick.

I don't have mine on the stands as they are quite solid on their own. You have to really raise those stands to get a good grip but I agree that along with the hands could be better. Its the loose grip index finger that's the issue. It looks nice but just not very practicle. Though if you press the sword handle into the pinky and ring finger, the hand grips just fine.

I do disagree with the posing comments though. I posed my just fine (see a few pages back) and good luck finding figure with that level of muscle mass that can pose well and not have unsightly joints. None of the Arnie Hot toys pose particularly well.

Hot Toys Thor could never hold his diecast hammer as it always made the wrist flop down and even his entire arm in some cases. Hot Toys Gladiator Hulk cannot even hold up his hammer up and that's a ratcheded joint.

To solve the Havoc Staff problem, Just rotate the peg so it cannot rotate anti clockwise.

Merman looks like he has very different hands and his trident is not so heavily I would think so there should be no issues there and any potential paint rubs can be easily avoided with just some clear plastic between any rubbing surfaces.

I have to disagree with both your points on Hot Toys Thor and Gladiator Hulk.

I have had multiple Thor figures holding the diecast Mjolnir with no problem and Hulk has had both
weapons in-hand (Hammer held way above his head height) since I opened him and again, no issues.

Also, you should not have to put plastic in-between weapons and hands to avoid paint rub.
These figures should be able to withstand that friction without that happening. Especially not on a $165.00 action figure.

As have I but my experience is clearly different to yours.

I was referring to the paint rubs on the upper thighs not the hands.

Wow. Mondo had a panel at PowerCon and we're getting a lot more in the line. Teela, She-Ra, Keldor, Trap Jaw, Stratos and Beast Man are all in stages of development.

I guess they're developing new bodies too. Hordak may get a Filmation variant in the future.

Thanks for sharing the news.

I'd probably skip Keldor, but the rest are likely purchases, providing the female buck that they develop looks good.

I really havent had any QC issues with my EX figures from Mondo. No paint rubs, bad joints, or even issues with the stands. Skeletor I just absolutely love and and has sold me on this line. I did touch up the inner eye black paint on the Exclusive Skeletor face plate that came with my He-Man because there was a little extra red down at the base. Ultimately though it wasnt enough to detract from my enjoyment of the piece. I cant wait until they release Beastman and my personal favorite a TrapJaw.

I did do video reviews if anyone is interested.

Very cool news. I cannot wait until we see Teela and She-Ra. :)

I haven't had any issues with my figures either (outside of the Havoc staff being heavy). I guess I'm one of the lucky ones that didn't have paint issues on the main body. The pupil part of the eyes were not the best paint job on my alternate head for Skeletor, but since I'll never use it, I'm not bothered by it. And it's just a speckle.....

Well, my ex He man came with a broken knee in the box due to the terrible articulation of these figures. This is a major fail (articulation). I fixed it though and it works just fine and is stronger.

Other than that, I just love these figures. Great design and beautiful overall.

I’ll probably get a few more although I don’t get the craze for the HT version. Yes! I like the glow in the dark gimmick, but the different colors are too far from the original Skeletor to be interesting imho.

Question for you guys. What kind of material is the hands and heads. Is it still hard plastic that will cause paint scrubs?
The quality of the Mondo Turtles really didn't felt like they design the high end price. But the last release had soft plastic hands to help avoiding paint rub on the weapons.

They are Vinyl material. I?ve been lucky with mine with zero paint rubs.

So, the Hot Topic Skeletor is suppose to be out in August did they say? Still check for the black armor with glow in the dark skull but so far nothing. I see the regular Skeletor (sent mine what I thought was the exclusive back for a refund) heavily discounted. One day he was under $119. Which is a steal.

Should be any day now. Brock just announced another Skeletor variant exclusive to DesignerCon that basically has him looking like a Christmas ornament lol

I'm a bit concerned that I'm already seeing He-Man and Skeletor discounted on various sites. Plus the Mondo exclusive Faker still hasn't sold out although it is limited to 250 pieces. I'm hoping this isn't a sign of lack of interest in the line....

Which sites have you seen deals on? I?ve seen sitewide coupons applicable to Skeletor on Hot Topic, which is where I just got mine. But other than that I haven?t seen too many deals on these aside from a few one-off eBay listings. Any links would be helpful. (I?m sort of contemplating picking up a second He-Man for a custom idea if the price is right.) Thanks!
