Not sure why this isn’t more of a known “quantity” but the Concept Art Cap turned out to have decent traps because of the tailoring more-so than anything else. Don’t get me wrong, I love the way it turned out but there is nothing but air beneath those sections of the suit; In my opinion HT just got lucky combining the DP body with that fabric and I think the harness tightness kind of brought it altogether. I noticed this because the first thing that I did after receiving the figure was swapping the helmeted headsculpt for an unhelmeted one. Properly cut fabric around the collar section plus decent padding and a new body is really the only way to make his proportions look better and it doesn’t seem like HT’s is willing to give us all 3 in any Cap figure.

Yep. It’s nothing but air under the material in the trap section on concept cap. It’s just how they sewed the piece on. Not sure why they can’t or won’t do it for this one since it has the same piece. Could probably be modded if anything.

After watching EG the second time, I really hope HT makes a A1 Cap 2.0 because I think they did revamp the outfit in the film. Especially when they showed the Cap vs Cap scene

IMO the mask looked a lot better on Evans

Right? I think they tweaked it a little.

It’s a combination of the shape of the material, the type of material, the shoulder harness’s shape/size and the DP body underneath (looks like they went back to the AoU/CW/IW standard Cap true-type for this one). Of course no one but HT’s would be able to confirm which body is being used for the production EG Cap figure.

UNRELATED: I know that there are threads here discussing the following 2 figures but since 1 of them is a Cap and this thread gets a lot of traction, I will ask here. So I’m on FB but barely, have a Twitter and Instagram profile but NEVER go there but I’ve heard that 2 figures from the EG line are being highly speculated.

1.) Do most people really think that HT’s is going to make an A1 Cap 2.0? I mean we know we are getting 2 (this one and the Team Suit/Quantum Realm) and I would expect HT’s to go the easy route and just release a dirty version of EG Cap with a couple different things (or mostly the same like the BV CW Cap) instead of having to completely refresh A1 Cap. I say refresh because as much as I will always love owning that figure, he’s way too skinny and the outfit colors are even brighter than in A1.

2.) Rescue (Pepper Potts-Stark) looks to be well on the way and I’ve been seeing a general consensus believing they will NOT make it a diecast Armor.

Please comment, all opinions are more than welcomed, they are needed!

But why not use the concept Cap? The size of the suit is perfect for the Endgame suit. Especially in the final scene when he goes back to replace the Stones. Maybe it's for better pose movements?

The JC Hong pic looks much better than any TWS derivative I've handled. But there's no doubt that the promo shots are a modded TWS. How strange.

I definitely agree with you both as well! Maybe that is a big reason fueling the A1 Cap 2.0 speculation. I’d buy it; DOPO!

You think so? I’m just not seeing it. It looks like the exact same sculpt to me, just different hair. Perhaps those subtle changes are indeed there and I’m just not examining it scrupulously enough or something, but even if they are, I just don’t see a significant difference in likeness from the previous sculpt to this one.

I can kinda just barely see the chin being a little more rounded, but it’s entirely possible that it was unintentional and due to them using the old mould.

If this is not the BD version why would they give him the broken shield, very weird.

The broken shield and hammer only exist in the movie while he’s BD.

I’m starting to think this is their BD version.

For me this HS has the best Chris Evans likeness from all the Cap figures so far (I can't explain why the HS on that promotion picture @Lvard showed looks so different than this).

And with all those accessories and a newly developed body, this is an awesome package (yeah I know, the rubber suit :wink1:).
I know you love your CW Cap. I've been looking for a good deal for that one for a long time myself.
But after seeing this version, the decision is quite clear for me.

I do agree that the in-hand shots look wayyyyy better than the production shots.

It is FOR SURE the same headsculpt besides the hair and that’s coming from someone who initially saw it as a completely new headsculpt and even mind tricked myself for a few hours seeing the side by side shots still thinking there were more differences than just the hair (and paint of course).

I can’t find the post but I believe it was on Instagram or FB and the description said it was a revised sculpt not a newly developed. Whatever changes they made it worked. Not perfect but miles better than before

That was my initial thinking as well, but a BD version would just be too easy for them to do to make a buck. Sprinkle three specs of dirt on the suit, bloody up a couple of the faceplates, and include a rubble diorama base.

Personally, I just might bite on a version like that. All of the Caps I have are clean. A full on BD version would help separate it from the rest, especially the regular CW version.

Whatever HT have or haven't done with this revised WS sculpt, to me it looks better than it did before (particularly in those in hand shots)...and that can only be seen as a win.

A few tweaks to the overall figure between now and final product would be nice...but if this is what we get 12-16 months from now, personally I'll be happy.

Damn shame we couldn't get a clean shield. Wanted my perfect cap with that shiny star

This is Cap right before he activates the Quantum suit to go back in time at the end. He suit was clean, no cowl, and Mjolnir at his feet, lol. That's the only scene in the movie this figure is actually accurate to, lol.

And the Professor Hulk snap before the Avengers compound got leveled.

I'm with you on that one. The only thing that might get me to bite is a Battle Damage version...speaking of which, does anyone know how long after CW Cap was announced until they announced the slightly-dirty BD version of CW Cap?

I was looking for date. CW Cap announced on December 2015 . CW Cap BD announced April 2016.
