Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

I wonder if jaws prefers TDKR over EG? I know TDKR ruined the trilogy for him. EG probably ruined his last 10 years tho. That's truly epic.

Oh its no contest.. I still prefer EG over TDKR... For now.. :lol

I can accept that Hulk is not in this film.. Banner can say he merged the two but he didn't. All that is Hulk, all that what made Hulk, Hulk is gone in EG. It does not ruin what Hulk was in the other films.

TDKR ruined Bruce Wayne and Batman in that series for me.

I can still go back and watch Avengers or TIH because that is Hulk.. Banner's mind winning out is not gonna change who Hulk is / was.

Of course If I want to start thinking about it... The fact that Hulk went out like ***** and then would not come out to fight anymore.. Well maybe the Russo's did change everything about the Hulk

Both series Suck now :(

:lol

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

JAWS, do you like IW or EG better?

For me, I still like IW better.

Its not even close.. I thought IW was a far better film..

I liked the feel of it more and thought the story was much more solid.

You end it with Thor Killing Thanos and no Hulk at all.. Its still better.

I really did not care for any of the time travel stuff in the 2nd act. Thought it was all a bit too silly.

3rd act was cool but very frustrating as a Hulk fan.

Even if Hulk had one truly Kick ass scene in EG I would still like IW better.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

I know this sounds goofy being Comic book movies and all.. But IW still felt grounded in reality.. Perhaps because it was so dark.

EG took on a fantasy feel due to the time travel.. It no longer felt as MCUish as the other films.

I am hoping to feel differently when I go see it again.

Perhaps a second viewing will change my mind.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

I loved Infinity War because of the big payoff having these characters meet and interact for the first time; while I thoroughly enjoyed it, I found myself feeling vaguely dissatisfied because it felt like — as it rightly should have — a big set-up for Endgame, maybe slightly rushed in places. Also not crazy about the battle of Wakanda.

Don’t get me wrong I didn’t hate it or anything.

The ending was chilling of course.

Endgame I have a handful of issues with, but it made me feel like a kid again. After 2 viewings I have almost nothing but love for that flick, goofiness and all.

I think I like it better, but need to watch them back to back.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

I guess I liked the comedic moments tempered by the dramatic ones more in IW. Better balanced I thought.

I like the Wakanda showdowns. The EG battle was so vast it reminded me of Ready Player One.

Perhaps a second viewing will change my mind.

It could. I found the second viewing much more enjoyable. I initially did not care for the time travel stuff too, but now I have come to appreciate it not just for the fan service, but for giving closure to some of the plot threads of the characters (Tony's daddy issues, Thor's mommy issues, Steve's virginity issues).

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

Whoever said infinity war is akin to ESB with Endgame being ROTJ was spot on. I have a feeling I'll always enjoy Endgame, but Infinity War is by far my favorite of the two and the more consistent film.

Haven't seen Ready Player One. Not it'll remind me of Endgame. ;)

The final battle was like a comic splash page come to life, I liked it a lot.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

This is definitely a movie made for a second viewing. Trying to comprehend the effects of time travel, the massive battle at the end with so much going on. My second viewing will be on blu-ray though since I usually just see a movie once in theaters.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

Cap wielding Mjölnir > every second of ROTJ :chase

I know it happened in the comics, but it just felt weird and out of character for Cap to have it. But he was pretty worthless against Thanos without it.

Re: Avengers: Endgame (April 26th, 2019)

See I thought the EG battle reminded me of LOTR again :dunno
