If you keep Ackbar practical, I do think it would look very off if he had the scenes Dern had. As great as the FX are, there are certain limitations with some characters. Other than a flapping mouth and moving eyes, I don't think Ackbar has a lot of articulation. And even if they went ahead and created a ultra expressive head, the audience is still gonna laugh at Poe arguing with a fish head. Make it CG, same problem, except now fans will rip it apart like they did CG Yoda.

But I agree with the poster earlier who said that the likely reason had more to do with creating distrust.

Maybe the Ackbar guy felt emboldened by all of JJ's not so subtle digs at KK and RJ at the Episode IX panel. And then he remembered the difference between a TV cartoon voice actor and the director of a $2 billion tentpole, lol.

Oh I don't judge the guy for being a shill, it's just we have to be honest and call him what he is. He could at least have acknowledged that many fans agree with the guy - just as many fans don't - and moved on. Rather than just having a shill senior moment and awkwardly moving on.

I do love how while in the theater we cheer movie characters who stand up for themselves against the big bads of the world, even their employers, when someone does it in real life, he's a "dumbass" for doing it. I'm not sure we called Sally Field a dumbass in "Norma Rae" (or any of the countless movies where characters take on their employers on grounds of fairness or transparency.) Ah, movies - such a force for change in the world.

It might be a free country but you can still get your ass fired in that free country and why should the host follow that guy down that hole and lose his job just because that guy hates Holdo he doesn’t owe that guy anything.

Not that i’m aware of I think 2007 had a domestic/europe combo same year but that’s all I remember.

I guess they will announce the other set of trilogies that the GOT guys are working on and also Rian’s.

Maybe Cassian and Mandalorian Season 2?

Maybe a Rose series?

In the post-Disney canon it was defeated at the Battle of Jakku.

The ROTS teaser suggests we may return to Endor (or thereabouts). And to discover Rey's origins we'll need to return to Jakku.
