I heard an interview with Kevin Pollak and he said on set of Casino, Rickles relentlessly busted Pesci's balls 
To the effect of "I'm going to ride him around the set like a Shetland Pony" and constantly made fun of his height
He tortured Deniro too, but Deniro was such a fan that he would just Goodfellas laugh at everything.
