2nd feature film from the Director of District 9.

The film wrapped principal photography back in Dec 2011, yet, no plot details have been revealed, other than the fact that it's another sci fi.

Has a pretty nice cast:

Matt Damon
Jodie Foster
William Fichtner
Sharlto Copley

Only thing it tells me is that it's set way in future, 2090 or thereabouts.

Excited to hear more info on this in the coming months, LOVED District 9.

It might not have had anything to do with that. From the articles it seemed like Microsoft was trying to control things without knowing how to work with Hollywood. Whether they were trying to do good or not is unknown.

Plot synopsis:

In the year 2159 two classes of people exist: the very wealthy who live on a pristine man-made space station called Elysium, and the rest, who live on an overpopulated, ruined Earth. Secretary Rhodes (Jodie Foster), a hard line government ofﬁcial, will stop at nothing to enforce anti-immigration laws and preserve the luxurious lifestyle of the citizens of Elysium. That doesn’t stop the people of Earth from trying to get in, by any means they can.
