Wasn't there a tread about this a few months back?

I looks cool, but I think I can't afford to pay $500,- for a lightsaber that doesn't work...

:D

Tempting with the green crystal and working led's, but i aint got 500$ to thrown down. But still tempting.

Ever since Star Wars: Episode VI The Return of the Jedi was released in 1983, rumors have run rampant of a scene where Luke is constructing his new lightsaber in a cave on Tatooine that ended up on the cutting room floor.

Like Big Foot, the mystery surrounding this "deleted scene" was so intriguing that it had become lore to Star Wars fans the world over. A lot of research by fans has been done, little tid-bits of information were found that may indicate the existence of this elusive scene, but nothing definitive. Even the storyboard that describes this scene was discovered, but there was still no evidence of the scene actually being filmed.

Many believe that the lightsaber that may have been used in this scene was the lightsaber that is referred to as the "MOM" lightsaber, which is the one that was on display at the Star Wars: The Magic of Myth exhibit at the National Air and Space Museum in 1997-1999 and then in the touring exhibit. This lightsaber had an accessible control box with a removable PCB cover. It also had a hole near the pommel for possibly the wires.

Fast forward 27+ years, August 14, 2010 . . . Star Wars: Celebration V in Orlando, Florida. The mystery of the elusive "missing scene" was finally solved and to the thunderous applause of the crowd, it was shown and announced that it will be edited back in the long awaited Blu-Ray Discs of the Star Wars Saga!

Love it. Coming at a bad time. Want it but depending on sales it may not be in the cards, if it sells out then I'll have to hunt the secondary markets later on.

I'll be picking this up...

Does anyone know if eFX includes acrylic covers along with the base?

If they'll make a similar Vader lightsaber I'll get it. Until then here I come eFX TIE Fighter and ANH Vader helmet!

With the last couple of releases they didn't. Someone over on The RPF was selling the Tano lightsaber with custom case so I don't know if it's because eFX didn't provide one or if they upgraded theirs...

eFX chooses not to include acrylic covers in order to keep costs down. There base is designed to support a after-market cover, but they do not supply one.

Thanks to Mintinbox.net for the pic
So the force crystal is there, makes me want to buy it...

The saber looks great -but I'd rather have the TIE Studio Scale and Vader ANH helmet, so I'm holding out.

I remember when this line was being discussed over at Master Replicas that it being looked at as a possible option to replace the lightsabers which had run their course so it's very possible if this sells well we'll see a bunch of different sabers given this treatment.

The question is how is eFX fairing? I haven't bought from them since their Clone AOTC helmet and it seems like their ES numbers are relatively low. Some pieces seem to soar in the secondary whilst others are way below retail...I wonder how well this would have to do in order to continue with the line itself?

I have a feeling this piece will take off. The price point alone will keep the edition size relatively low
