Hey guys,

I didn't see a thread regarding these...I've seen that quite a few people are getting their orders in now, and thought it would be interesting to have one thread for people to post their thoughts on them.

I got one in the mail yesterday, and have the rest on the way from Viking Playground (Thanks Alexei!), and I thought I'd post my thoughts in case anyone is thinking of picking one up.

I got the Navy blue suit for a "Quantum of Solace Movie Poster" Bond custom, with a Toy City gun and Feng head. It looks sweet all put together...I'll try to get some pics for you guys tonight.

I'm going to compare it a bit to the HT Two-Face Suit, since that's the only one I have any experience with right now.

What it comes with - Shirt, Tie, Shoes, Pants, Jacket, and Vest.

The Shoes - A direct knockoff of the standard HT dress shoe that comes with the Dent figure and the Tony Stark suit set. It's a GOOD knockoff though, I wouldn't be able to really tell the difference between the two except the sole seems to be a little cheaper plastic. Overall, I'm happy with it, and the HT feet pegs fit in them just fine. Which means the pegs are the same as the TTL pegs - gotta see if I can pick up a few of those bodies to play around with.

The Shirt - It's a cotton-like fabric, a little coarse. Good quality stitching and design, and nice to-scale buttons. It's thicker than the HT version, but I like it. I've had dress shirts like this before. It closes with three metal snaps on the front, which work well. The only problem with it is there's no connection at the neck or on the sleeves at the wrist, so they just sit open. I used a drop of superglue on the wrists, and the top is held together with the tie, but I was put off by that. Having to use other fastening materials is a no-no in my book.

The Tie It's black, a man-made fabric, similar to the suit. It's a good scale and size, though it's folded over and glued on the underside, and it's a thicker material than HT's. This becomes an issue when trying to tie it, because it puckers a bit on the underside - not a dealbreaker, but a little disappointing. On that note, WHY is it untied? Took me an hour to tie the damn thing and I'm still not quite happy. It's too short the way I tied it, which is fine since I'm using the vest but wouldn't work if it was open. Pain in the butt. See if you can get something else pretied for this one.

The Suit First off, it's cut to fit a Narrow TT (and whatever the TTL equivalent of that is). So on my regular TT, it's snug in the chest and shoulders, but I can't really mark them down for that, since it's not designed for this body. It's not crazy tight, but a little snug. The sleeves seem a smidge short, though I think that's due to the bigger shoulders in the regular TT.

The suit is a man-made fabric I believe, a bit stiff, and smells a little funny...I can't describe it but I washed my hands after. If it was full-scale I would say it was a Poly blend, though I don't know what it is here. It's thin, and I like the way it hangs on the body very well. It's really well tailored too - all the pockets are here, and actually work, and though it doesn't come with a belt (WHY doesn't it come with a belt?!) there are loops here so you can add one.

The Pants are a good length and fit, and sit well. They have a single snap in front, which is good enough and works.

The vest has two snaps in front, which works well, though as I mentioned it's a bit snug on the chest so the snap is more visible than it would be on a narrow TT.

The jacket DOESN'T close, just like the Two-Face. I see why the do this, so you can display the figure with the jacket open and not see snaps. But for my purposes, I needed it closed, and since it's snug on the front I couldn't use my normal trick of double-sided tape since it wouldn't hold so the super glue came out again. The open pocket in the jacket is a nice touch, since bond had a hanky in it in the poster, and I was able to add it.

Conclusion - I'm happy with my purchase and look forward to getting my other suits for my other Bonds. The tie is really the major pain, and I don't see why they didn't put velcro at the wrists of the shirt and why they didn't include a belt, but it's a display worthy piece that looks great on the shelf and on par display-wise with a HT.

What do you guys who've received yours think?

was curious about these but your review is just aching for pics. hope you can get them up tonight.

the main thing that bugged me about these is the outline stitching on the lapels.

cant wait to see the bond

Gotta agree with ya capn. I also purchased the blue suit. It was cheaper to get from overseas on eBay..only $39 w/ shipping. Didn't use the tie, but i'm sure it would take forever..and no velcro on the wrists of the dress shirt was disappointing as well. A belt would have made a nice addition along with buttons for the jacket itself.
Overall, it "suits" it's purpose..bad pun intended. Glad I didn't pay what some sellers in the States here are charging for it.

got mine in last week too. they're decent, but not great. so far my two favorite is the hot toys one and the triad toys one. comparable third is the one on the DiD obama but that one is not sold separate i dont think

I got a blue one for my Harvey Dent. Its a bit too dark for my tastes though. Its practically black when its not in direct sunlight or next to a guy in a black suit.

Thanks for the review, thecapn, my thoughts and pix here. I've placed the suits on HT slim, narrow shoulders and normal bodies for comparison.

They're a decent addition to my other men in suits.

Hey Cap that's a great Bond! So that is the Feng sculpt on a TrueType, a UMP-9 (where did you get that?), and is that the blue suit or black? Great work btw.

It's a Feng head, bought prepainted for a pretty penny, on a regular TT, with the TTL suit and a TTL Toy City MP7 set. Not a UMP-9, but really close in my book. It's the blue suit, though it is really dark as was noted. I'm really just looking for a watch to top it off, and I'll call it done for now :)

Thanks for the kudos, guys!

Love the Bond. God I love the Feng head. Nothin' like the original the TTL rip off is horrible.

the TTL suit looks great on him, one of the best Bond bashes ive seen.

heres my bash with the Feng...

Sweet Bash, Raymond. I'm not a big fan of the "Bond in tux" look since it's always so tied to one scene, but man, that looks good. Where did you get that watch?

And, yeah, I was lucky to get that sculpt. One of the original buyers had to sell it, and PM'd me because they knew I was looking. Otherwise I'd probably be stuck with that weird Gestapo head cast too.

For me though, Bond in a tux is the iconic Bond. Whenever i get my SS heads back from Les, Brosnan I think is the only one I'm dressing in a suit, Moore is in the Legacy tux, Connary in the Legacy tux, as is Lazenby. Dalton is in his LEgacy tux as well, but it that weird wedding tux. Its a great outfit but i might replace it on principal.

Still though Daniel Craig will be the only one on the classic tux look, which I prefer because all the Casino Royale PR and posters had him in his tux, I do not consider his final 3 piece pinstripe blue suit the iconic look from that movie.

the watch and suit came from the Dangerous Man knock of from Dr. Figures; its the closest thing to his CR poker suit out there. The shirt and bow tie from the Dr. No bond.

HEres the same watch loose!

yeah, I have Brosnan, Dalton, Connery, and Moore figures coming right now, along with the rest of the suits from TTL, and I'm thinking about how to display them. The light gray and dark tie is really an iconic look for Connery...in fact, I may try to make the tie a bit thinner to fit his look better. Moore seems to stand out in brown in my memory, though I don't have a suit that color. Brosnan seems to be most likely to pull off a dark grey, a lot of times with a blue shirt, at least later in his movies. Dalton is the one with most variety and I'm trying to decide what to do with him (He's also a personal favorite). The tan suit, blue shirt with open collar from License to Kill? The leather jacket-sweater combo (which would be oh-so-difficult to pull off)....I'm tempted to pick up "The Spirit" shirt and pants to do the Licence to Kill movie poster too. So many decisions...

Loving the watch link, thanks so much!

Great pics and bashes guys. Nice review as well thecapn! The suits look great. Would never have thought that suit was blue though in the pictures until some one said! :lol Looks really dark.

My missus has in fact bought me the full TTL gestapo set off e-bay. Including the re-cast head. I feel pretty bad about this, but she wasn't to know. So now as I have it I may as well use it, right? Gotta love feng's sculpt but the paint and quality of the re-cast is horrid. He has some kind of dark wash on his forehead and around his mouth, In direct light it looks horrible. Might attempt to re-paint it.

The suit is great, really sharp and neat, not all soft and messy like most other suits i've had in the past. I'd reccommend them.
