It is done!
I've ordered my first custom. A 1/6 (white) Clone Commando, properly buffed.
And added a Scorch to that order too because I'm not waiting for Hot Toys to make him a skinny exclusive ...

I'm down a VERY slippery slope now :)

Get a Scorch like how he ought to be: this is the Way. (y)

From the way I see, that skinny design is pretty much faithful to the Bad Bad show. Those commandos are really not that buffed though. I don't think Hot Toys is at fault here.

But it shouldn't be faithful to the show as far as proportions go. The show is stylised, the figure is meant to be reality/ authentic looking.

They should either be completely screen accurate to the cartoon or completely authentic looking. Half measures satisfy no one, and frankly I doubt they even were going for a half way point anyway. It's just bad/ lazy work.

Wrong, this commando is specifically licensed under the Bad Batch animated show and it should 100% be that way. And look at those images, those clone commandos are clearly and visually not buffed.

Wrong. In the show the actual models used differ from hunter in bulk (hunter is slimmer per design sheet) so using hunter parts is still too slim even for animated style, not to mention the shoulder pads should be much larger. Also, HT don't make 1:1 animated figures, they are realistic styled, so they already bulk up the designs to account for animated designs being slimmed (just look at Echo torso for example, that is realistic proportions). Also, Bad Batch branding should not effect design of armour and as it is the same as Gregor who is a republic commando pre empire, so not case of imperial redesigned slimmed down suit

Certainly not more bulk than Hunter.

I'm not playing word game with you @jaztermareal , you're insinuating too many things. I trust what I can actually see.

To be precise:

Bad Bad clone commandos - not buffed, Hot Toys did it faithfully according to source material from animated show.

Clone Wars/Video game clone commandos - super buffed. Wait for these in the near future.

So I grudgingly get back on the WL and I almost immediately get this:

Which is a bit odd, I dont get on WL much but I dont think I've ever gotten this before? Im wondering if a lot of ppl were ordering one on a bunch of different devices, and SSC is just now sorting that out. Dunno. I thought with this super seekrit stuff it was supposed to be a one per household limit? And a bunch of ppl tried to get around that.

Yeah, look at those large shoulder pads that sit at an angle, the wider chest and thighs than Hunter etc. Then look at the HT figure with its puny shoulder pads and overall slim look.

Again, all the cartoon designs are slimmer than is realistic. HT do realistic style so slimmer cartoon designs get thicker to better fit human frame. Saying "cartoon commandos are skinny" is not an excuse as that is how the bulky design was translated into animation. When clones got converted to animation they got slimmed down but HT Captain Rex is as thick as a movie clone.

This HT commando is a poor conversion of animated trooper to realistic precisely due to Laziness. Hunter (as per design specs from show creators) is supposed to be wearing slimmed down version of commando armour, so any commando figure whether based on cartoon or game should be bulkier than Hunter but HT went the lazy repaint /slight retool route

Figure looks fine if anything the pauldron pieces are a little small/placed a bit sloped. Besides that and wishing the light somehow was usb not battery its a nice figure, and I bet we will see non limited variations of this since having r&d done for the helmet only to make 2500 is weird.
