I didnt like that movie that much. To be honest I really dont like it at all. I dont see any of the wow factor. The action scenes was boring; nothing stood out. The major flaw of the Capt AMerican movie was the script itself, horribly written, action scenes was average. A total dud.

Heck yeah! This one is worth multiple viewings.

Are you sure you watched Cap and not Zookeeper? :lol

You're obviously in the minority. Are you sure you weren't watching the Captain America that was made in the 90's??

Ya, Iv pretty much disliked all the movies I watched this year except for Thor but Cap just blew me away.

this is what a Comic book movie should be.Nods to the history of the character, plenty of action, a bad guy that's bad. Whats not to love.

Wasnt sure about Chris Evans when I first heard he was cast, but boy did he knock the character out of the park. Excellent acting, story and action scenes.

on rotten tomatoes its at 75%.. it needs to be way higher than that.. at least 80.. hopefully it goes up by the end of it's run.. thor is at 77 and it is way better than Thor in my opinion

I caught this yesterday, and I enjoyed it quite a bit. My wife's main criticism was that she thought Evans was pretty vanilla, and she thought any number of other actors could have done just as good of a job. And I can understand that. It isn't like RDJ as Iron Man, which is such a distinctive take on the character. I could imagine Marvel replacing Evans with another actor down the road and people not caring too much about it. But Cap is supposed to be a pretty vanilla character in his way, so I think Evans was fine. Red Skull was great. Story was decent but nothing special. CG was a bit over-used IMO and took me out of the story a couple of times. I also didn't like how Cap was given his "hero" costume and then we get a video montage instead of something really dramatic and awesome as he shows off his costume for the first time.

I would rank this behind both X-Men and Thor, but still a solid 7/10 movie.

ALOT of thor's positive reviews came from Australian reviewers with an obvious bias for hemsworth. In fact Thor was in the 90% the first two weeks when the majority where australian reviewers.

She's hot, tig ol' bitties!!! And Brit-Ish! :drool X-Men is still the best movie of the summer but Cap & Thor are great in there own right.

I thought the Red Skull's plot to destroy various cities could have been built up with a little more care. Cap's origin was well done but I found the build up from his origin to the climax to be choppy and poorly constructed. Did I like it? Hell yes, I loved it, but it could have been better here and there. Still, after waiting my whole life to see Cap on the big screen I'm very happy overall.... And I swear I got a massive boner every time Hayley Atwell was on the screen. :drool

When Hayley Atwell shows up in the red dress at the bar I said "holy ____!" out loud. :lecture

I caught this yesterday, and I enjoyed it quite a bit. My wife's main criticism was that she thought Evans was pretty vanilla, and she thought any number of other actors could have done just as good of a job.

My wife said that she had a hard time seeing him as a "hunk" in the second half of the movie because the first part cemented him so strongly as a scrawny weakling. She said she knew that post-serum Rogers was the "real" Chris Evans but she couldn't shake his appearance at the beginning. So I thought that showed how good a job Evans and the visual effects artists did at selling that version of the character.

I also didn't like how Cap was given his "hero" costume and then we get a video montage instead of something really dramatic and awesome as he shows off his costume for the first time.

That was one of those filmmaking decisions that can either be really cool or, depending on the viewer (and execution of course,) can rub people the wrong way. Johnston borrowed a technique from a lot of Cap's origin retellings from the comics and applied it to film. If you check out Stan Lee's version of Cap's origin in Tales of Suspense #63 you'll see Cap getting his costume followed by a montage of him kicking ass (including him crashing through a wall with his bike) in single-panel snippets before getting back to the main story.

Johnston obviously gave us his version of that, which I really liked, but I could see how it'd be a bit jarring from a traditional filmmaking perspective. I thought it was a cool tribute to the comics and was kind of a highlight reel of adventures we'll never actually see (not unlike the fake "trailers" in the recent "Grindhouse" movie.)
