please don't forget that the flash makes everything looks "too much".
i'm the one who wanted to have a "less painted" mask, but i think i'll just stick to what is on screen - because of that "flash thing".

Yeah I didn't take that into account. I only wanted it less dirty based on the pictures I saw that Thierry posted

Still, I liked the fact how Alejandro could custom paint for me to make it less dirty to my liking and I was hoping Thierry could do it for me too. I think even with less bright photo flash, it would still look a bit too dirty for me hehe.

As they're handmade, somehow each copy is unique. The weathering on this first copy of the Ultimate version was intentionally quite marked. Soon, everyone will be able to notice (and hopefully, to appreciate ) the patina that I use now for the weathering of the Ultimate with marks of green and earth colors that a prolonged exposure in an hostile environment (as the jungle can be) may put down. But in any case I never use the flash on my shots...

for example, long time ago i asked baloo if he could change it like here, and he said it's possible.
but now he says that it is still not the final variant, so i'll better wait for the final one before making any more wishes

Ahh I see. Since each copy is handmade unique then I'm sure you can help make mine custom painted to my taste
So the pictures you posted for this ultimate mask is not final? I can't really see the green and earth colors in these ones...
I await to see them up close to help me make my decision as well

Not really. Your post showed pictures that you wanted it to be more fuzzy/blur. That's not what I want exactly because there are still alot of black marks/dots.

Alejandro posted pictures of his painted mask without the bullet holes in the forehead and the top head of the mask and also the dotted dirt at the nose area. The dirt was more evenly distributed among the metallic silver of his mask.

Basically I want to retain the metallic silver feel of the mask but I don't want it to be so shiny as to be unrealistic. So instead of having so much dirt focused in one/several areas of the mask, I'd rather it somehow blend itself with the mask to give it a more 'natural' feel compared to a super dirty, battle-damaged, i-just-swam-in-the-mud look in order to maintain the metallic glory and beauty of it

To me, too much dirt just blocks to the full potential of the mask 'aura' if you get what i mean hehe.

But you are right since baloo said this isn't the final variant, it's best to wait for the final one before making a full and final informed decision on what you want best from an expensive, custom-crafted masterpiece mask

I see what you mean, David, and the pics to come go to this direction. The smudges of earth and clorophile were effectively very few marked on this first copy.

Hello my friends.

I am currently completing the "Classic" version. I think I'll have finished for Monday. Here's a little look after a first layer of varnish.
Here it is next to that from HT for comparison:

Tomorrow, when it will be dry, I'll be able to soften the grainy with a Micromesh and, if necessary, enhance the contrast of dark hollow by another black wash and enlight the rest by another drybrush before spraying a new layer varnish.

Personally, Im either going to choose this version or the ultimate version.

I was thinking of the full ultimate but this classic version looks great. Even unfinished. So I'd like to see how this version pans out. One thing I know for sure I definitely want one with the lighting.
