Personally, I'd go with XM. Doesn't HTs IM pieces have a history of fading issues? Not saying ALL do, but isn't that a wide spread concern with this line?

I'm not sure but I don't think there have been many reports (yet!) of fading being a problem with the 1/4 Mark 42.

I dont have nearly as many pics of both XM and HTs mark 42 but heres a couple of rather compressed older ones I managed to find, if you'd like to compare.

I give HT the advantage with the head sculpt, base, along with the battle damage on the suit, but it's still close.
 
Just happened to notice BBTS has the XM Mark 42 for sale at $532 shipped.

yeah, this one hasn't sold well at all. But how is BBTS selling that in the US directly? isn't that a regional license infringement?
