Funny they cant sell to the country where all these characters were created. If not for the US there'd be no characters to collect :lecture.

Means nothing. Captain America films routinely open in other countries before they do in the US. GG

What would be the reason for countries being excluded from this list? Is it down to pure licensing costs for those countries or do other studios having exclusive rights play a part?

It's assumed that SS has exclusive rights for North America. So regardless of how much XM would be willing to pay they can't get a license until SS license with Marvel expires.

SS 1/4 license isn't completing blanketing to Marvel. Gentle Giant was able to release 1/4 Black Widow and Rocket/Groot statues. So there is some latitude within the SS license, but it certainly does seem they have an exclusive 1/4 scale marvel (and probably DC) statue license for NA.

Weren't GG's Rocket/Groot and BW statues the movie versions of those characters? If so, then it's possible that 1/4 movie versions of Marvel characters aren't exclusive to SSC. However, comic versions are a whole other story it seems. SSC looks to have that locked up.

If XM can sell in France, does that mean that SS shouldn't be allowed to do it or does that mean that they dont have exclusive rights over here ?

Good question. I think you can order SS wherever in world you are basically, despite their right to distribute in NA.

Sideshow has a worldwide license. Everyone can order from Sideshow, unless Sideshow prevents them from doing it... there are some high corruption countries where Sideshow doesn't ship due to the high risk of packages being stolen. XM only has a limited license to a few asian countries, and they expanded it to include a portion of the european market... probably because nobody gives a damn about the european market anyway.

I would guess SS has a exclusive license for North America and a limited license for the rest of the world.

More like an exclusive license for NA, plus the possibility to sell wherever they want.

Few pages back been talking about licensing. Shall we back on discussing how great this piece would be lol..
