Well, if the smoke bothers you in pictures it probably would in person too. It does look better, but not dramatically different or anything. For me the whole thing is just so dynamic and eye catching that my eyes aren't drawn to the smoke. But I'm personally not really bothered by it anyway. If it's still on display at this years STGCC it should be the final production piece, so I can take a good video of it and give you my thoughts. It's a shame it's so difficult to find ways to see these in person before buying them. I feel really lucky to have the opportunity to attend STGCC otherwise I wouldn't have any opportunity to see them either.

Yea just gonna bump this rather dead thread. Any updates on the release date from the recent STGCC? They've been taking a really long time to get this out.

I just realised I hadn't given you my thoughts on this after seeing it at STGCC. The production piece had the smaller pouches on the belt and they have gone back to the sculpted dreads instead of fabric ones. Both of those changes improved the piece IMO. Overall, it looked great and looked exactly like the prototype. That also means that the smoke looks exactly like the proto, so anyone who didn't like it back then won't like it now either. The day prior to the convention I had gone to Simply Toys, and they had both the Mythos Boba Fett (which I had never seen before) and the PF which is on the Cloud City base (which I currently own but it boxed up in storage) next to each other. Both of them looked very nice, but I was blown away by the detail and paint on the Mythos piece. The only thing I didn't like about it was the size.

So comparing both of those to the XM, the Mythos is the most detailed and the XM is the most dynamic. After seeing the PF next to the Mythos in Simpy Toys it reminded me how much I prefer fully sculpted to mixed media. Then seeing the Boba, Maul, and Luke next to each other at the con drove that home even more. They looked SO amazing together. Boba and Maul looked particularly great next to each other because they both have the action poses. So right now I'm planning to sell my ESB Cloud City Fett PF once I get the XM one in. I love that it's fully sculpted, I love the action pose, and he looked fantastic next to Luke who I'm definitely picking up. Drawbacks would be the smoke for those who don't like it, and it doesn't have the level of detail or realism that the Mythos has. I do have a short video of Boba which I haven't uploaded yet, but I wish I'd taken a longer one. I was focusing on getting videos of the newer pieces and then by Sunday I was pretty exhausted.

I've heard it might be shipping in the next couple of weeks, which is exciting!

Doh, I meant braids! I have Predators on the brain at the moment. I'm really looking forward to this shipping as well. For anyone who is on the fence I think you'll probably be able to get this one cheaper down the road if you aren't sure yet.

Yeah, it's not looking good. I was planning to PO Swamp Thing but now I'm thinking it's best to wait for in-hand pics. At least Sideshow's Star Wars PF line has been one of their most consistent lines of any franchise. I've really gone down a fully sculpted road though, so I'm hoping XM continue making Star Wars pieces. I do have the Iron Studios Vader coming in which has a fabric cape but I love the look of that piece. I actually can't even remember the last time I got a piece that had mixed media. It must have been the Boba PF.

Edit: I just checked my Sideshow account. Technically it was the Sandtrooper PF as that has the mixed media suit under the armour, but I sent that straight back due to issues. Prior to that it was Boba. Right now my only orders on my Sideshow account are for Prime 1 and Iron Studios.

I don't think the paint/weathering is as good as the new ROTJ Sideshow 1/4 or the Mythos or the Hot Toys 1/4. Definetly not screen accurate. Still getting it because It's the only dynamic Fett. If only the paint was better.

Even though I don't love the smoke effect, I too would love to add this to my Fett collection because of the dynamic pose. I just don't see how I'm going to get it for a reasonable price here in the states.

Even at retail your looking about $1100 USD by the time you ship it over from Singapore. Maybe $1000 if you get a good deal on shipping. Given the Edition Size is 800 it should hold it's value in the long run and I doubt you'll ever see another Boba Fett like this one (action pose). The last SS one was a semi action but the rest of the ones SS has done have been Museum poses. So IMO it's worth the $1000.
