The set of 10 WWR Squares came with a unpainted white "DIY" Square. I just finished painting mine. I have some plans for some additional decals but haven't worked out a good way to paint them yet.

I started with an all black undercoat:

This is two steps, the legs show the base of silver over the black, the body shows the first layer of brownish rust.

Second layer of more reddish rust

The white overcoat is added

Now some of the rust worked back into the white overcoat and glossy stains added dropping from the eyes and mouth. Red detailing on legs and pelvis also added. (which will match the decals when they're on).

And this is the final sans-decals. Added some additional weathering over the white.

This is kinda what I'm looking for it to finally look like.

Paint and weathering are fantastic.

Decal work is a bit too 'Kratos' for my taste however.

Regardless, very nice work.

Kratos? Not sure I follow. Are you referring to the white/red color scheme?

decals are done, pics incoming in about a half hour or so. Need to set up my backdrop and take pics.

Mignola pile with the rest of the keepers.

The red paint (much like the paint on Medic) is bouncing back light a bit under the bright lights making it look paler and pinker than it is to the eye. Like-wise the rust is also darker. It's a hard balance taking pics and getting the whites white and keeping the rest of the colors from over exposing. (without doing a lot of masked adjustments).

Ended up using the masking tape stencils, cut by hand (as you maybe can tell), and a careful very dry brushing.

Not much new to see, one last minor update. Added an additional decal to both sides as I felt they both where a touch lacking.

It's one of Ashley Wood's 1/6 robots. This was before I had done the decals on it. You can see the scale of it with 1/6 figures (the guy in the gasmask, and the dude with the swords) and the other 1/6 bots.

I took some good masking tape, laid it down on a cutting board, drew out by hand the stencil, then carefully cut it out with one of my scalpels*. I then applied the tape to the Square and used very thin coats of red acrylic mixed with matte clear acrylic (about 50/50) to build up the red. And I mean very thin, and with a very dry brush. It's a little tedious but if you try to lay down too much paint it will bleed under the stencil.

*an exacto/hobby knife will work as well. I just happen to like using scalpels for hobby stuff.

Yeah I used to think the same but I've gotten pretty good at it. I also used to hate painting but also now really enjoy it. This is only the second thing I've ever finished, the first being Bramble's Gat.
