Yup - worst SDCC for SW - period!

It's never been this dry of excitement, even after the prequels finished there was plenty of things to look forward to.

The SW brand is in a really bad state at the moment :(

Agreed. Even with the lackluster PT and no new SW films on the horizon it was still a very exciting time to collect Sideshow from 2006-2008. And here we are smack dab in the middle of a huge renaissance of films and media with a major trilogy entry coming later this very year and yet...they fumbled the license to the point of apparently losing it.

Sideshow products are only as good as the source material.

Is it any wonder nobody wants a Finn, Rey, Captain Phasma, Young Han Solo/ Lando, nth variation of a trooper?

Collectors don't want characters that aren't likeable, relatable or memorable so Sideshow has to keep milking the OT and proven hits like Maul.

But the last OT Premiums Format -as Chewbacca, Princess Leia, Han Solo, Luke, and Obi-Wan- neither sell well..all of them are still in stock including the Exclusives Versions....bad time for Star Wars Statues I guess, are Original Trilogy or not.

Current state of Star Wars...
The new trilogy sucks.
In the SW empire thats true, but definitly much better than the most movies in the last years
The price is insane
hahaha, other statues the same
The statues are meh with bonus jazz hands
man, movie statues are an other level than comic or monster statues, thats definitly the business class in this game, when the most companies will be arriving P1 or IS status than we will be see a new beginning on the statue market. i think than we will see more Movie Statues and Singers, Rappers and Athlete legends and much more real people but at the moment its Comictime but im sure the time will coming and every companies try to be better
meeeeeeehhhh

To be fair, all of them, besides Leia and possible Ben (looked like they reworked his face a bit), look awful. The Chewie was a redo of the one they did before that, Luke is in an awkward tap dancing pose with a meh face sculpt and Han is in an meh pose with a meh face sculpt.

I was in on both Bespin Luke and Han, up until I saw the preview pictures and finally the production photos. Bespin Luke is my favorite Luke but I'm not spending almost $600 on him when he looks like that, a normal museum pose with both his hands on his lightsaber, ready to confront Vader, would of been fine. Also for such a price, that Bespin base should light up too.

The last few pieces that have sold out for Star Wars, Maul, Jango Fett and Death Trooper were all great looking pieces with a unique look to all of them.

In other old times all them was sold out at this moment, I think. Leia seems a solid piece, and Han is underrated in my opinión, the face sculpt is made by Trevor Grove, a great sculptor and a specialist in the likeness of Harrison Ford. The sculpt is good, maybe the paint app ruined a bit. I don´t see a great diference between this pieces and the previous Premium Formats (of human likeness).

I really do like the Leia, I'm just waiting for the price to go down lol. Have my eye on the Stormtrooper too.

They're improvements of the original ones they made almost a decade or so ago, but for how much they cost, I just don't feel like they're worth the almost double price at the moment. I know Maul has the tattoos and red/black face but the face sculpt is almost perfect. I'm looking at it right now and its amazing how much it looks like a young Ray Park.
