For it's all around cheesey one liners, it would have to be 'Army of Darkness'. Hail to the king, baby.

Damn, that's a tough one. The "Shining" and John Carpenter's "The Thing"
are good calls. But I think I have to go with the original, black and white "Night of the Living Dead." I watched that when I was around 8 years old with my dad. My little brother, 2 years younger, tried to watch it but practically crapped his pants and ran away...I don't think he's ever watched it to this day!:lol

I would also give props to "Invasion of the Body Snatchers."

The most frightening and disturbing film I have ever seen is Takashi Miike's
"The Audition".

If you haven't seen it... Please do so. You will never forget it!

Wow! That figure looks mighty familiar! :monkey5

My favorite horror movie.........

Well, it is a favorite, and I'm going with the one that actually scared me
(terrorized me) the most of any other film in my entire life: Salem's Lot.

Apparently I'm not the only one it affected that way either.

Saw the mini-series when I was 8 years old and that was it. :google:eek:

Here are several SPOILER examples of why, the first being the one that got me:

Others that affected me, although they pale in comparison:

The Exorcist
Trilogy of Terror
Ringu
The Ring
The Grudge

My thoughts exactly!!!!!

The scariest one I've ever seen was...

The Blair Witch Project

I know, I know people give this movie C**rap all the time because of shakey cam, or the premise, or that it was based on a previous film, or the hype that surrounded it and on and on. But what made this film scare the C**rap out of me was that you never saw the villian, ever (which is rare in horror films). That in itself made it scary to me because I think many of us fear what we don't see.

favorite---puppet master

scariest---amityville house of horrors--my bro and his friends used to make me watch this and then play all types of pranks on me. they drove me to the real house once (which is about 15 minutes from me) and left me on the corner for about an hour at night . im still looking for my revenge on those dick heads.

Well it looks like Halloween is the most mentioned or I guess most popular thus far. Halloween is a very close second to the Shinning, in fact Halloween has always been my favorite up to maybe a couple of years ago.

The Shinning just adds that extra creep to the whole idea of Isolation.

Halloween is the winner so far! Anyone else?

As a nearly lifelong devotee to all things monstrous(at least up until around a certain decade held in high regards by the younger set:lol), I feel that this is an unfair question. There is no way on earth I could pick just one. Especially since my classic horror and sci-fi dvd collection contains hundreds of films. So, do you want a top 10 per decade...because that's about the best I can do.:monkey3:D

I liked Blair Witch as well. I saw it at the cinema and every time night came, I had to brace myself in my chair.

The next time I tried to watch it was when I was alone in my bedroom with the lights out. I saw about 5mins...

I love the end... I wont give anything away.
