Time for some Metal.

First up: Becoming The Archetype

Next, Demon Hunter. These two songs are from my my go-to album for working out lately.

For those who like some singing in their metal:

This last song has the greatest guitar solo I have ever heard in Black Metal. Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd has my all time favorite guitar solo, but this one is right up there. [If you can't handle the music style but want to hear the solo, skip to 2:05]:

Hellhammer on drums. :rock

Fun stuff.

I just saw the Preservation Hall Jazz Band a week or so ago. Really great Dixieland style jazz.

This is just incredible!!

Thanks for posting that. No way was I expecting that to be so amazing. The fact that they are doing all that live is pure badassary. Definitely cheking these guys out.

I'm really enjoying the new Feist album.

My dad may well be the world's biggest Gordon Lightfoot fan, so I've heard his songs many many a time on vacation trips as a kid. And as with many other things re: my dad, I didn't get it as a youngster, and now it makes perfect sense.

Fun stuff.

Originally being from near New Orleans, I've seen them a few times. Like Wolverine, they're the best at what they do.

Bit of language in this one...

When I first listened I was disappointed with the majority of it. Now, i'm of the opinion there's about 4 songs that could easily go onto their best of, 1 really poop song (I hear voices) the rest is ok, far from their best IMO. Good album though.

I'd rank them:

1.Kasabian
2.West Ryder
3.Empire
4.Velociraptor!

Don't get me wrong, I think West Ryder and Empire are great albums, but I think Velociraptor! sounds a little more poppy and easy going. Like they aren't trying so hard to impress.

I do agree that "I Hear Voices" is not that good. It almost sounds like it doesn't belong on this album.

Was just trying to find a Sabbath song for Ski (still can't figure out which one it is) but while I was exploring, I was completely rechristened with the reason why they are my favorite band.

Seriously? God. Damn.

Sabbath Bloody Sabbath and Sabotage have to be two of the most brilliant albums ever recorded. Vol.4 was dumbfounding, but these two were epiphanies. It's just too bad everything after Sabotage was garbage.

Which Sabbath song are you looking for?

Ski sent me a video of him lifting and there was a song that used two notes of a riff that're pulled straight from a section of one of their more elaborate tracks. That's the problem. I can't nail down where it falls in what song (too many nights of listening to them three sheets to the wind).

D'oh. It's A National Acrobat. I knew it was on SBS. Thanks Batty.

Now I can't help myself. 1970.
