Very nice. Haven't heard of these guys.

Nice to hear something catchy, melodic, and heavy that is so original. This makes me uncomfortable though: https://www.amazon.com/Why-Arent-These-Guys-Huge/forum/Fx3O89JB6E4LXV9/Tx3RRRM0L5WRNYQ/1/ref=cm_cd_dp_ef_tft_tp?_encoding=UTF8&asin=B000FGG6WU

Hope the bit about "auto tuning and tone correction" is just slander.

Oh trust me that guy's post is all slander. They are amazing live (seen them 3 times). Kit sounds very very close to the record live and his rang is too. He (and the band) is very energetic and fun to watch.

They're either trying to make money, or trying to be cooler than the people who are trying to make money.

Also, people don't really have the heart they used to. There's an innocence missing from people today. They're cynical, even at their best. I don't know. I'm just guessing. But, listen to one and then listen to the other. Actually, listen to early 70's music for three hours, and then listen to music from the last 5 years for as long. See which one you want to kill, why you want to kill it, and you will have something very close to the answer you seek.

This is very true! :lecture

The whole album is just stellar and I can't stop listening to it.

Right now, this is my favorite:

Yup. They're bitter and they sound like it. Croce at his most unhappy was never bitter.

How does the above song hold up in the 'cynical and bitter' category?

Thistle & Weeds

Spare me your judgements and spare me your dreams
Cause recently mine have been tearing my seams
I sit alone in this winter clarity which clouds my mind
Alone in the wind and the rain you left me
It's getting dark darling, too dark to see
And I'm on my knees, and your faith in shreds, it seems

Corrupted by the simple sniff of riches blown
I know you have felt much more love than you've shown
And I'm on my knees and the water creeps to my chest

But plant your hope with good seeds
Don't cover yourself with thistle and weeds
Rain down, rain down on me
Look over your hills and be still
The sky above us shoots to kill
Rain down, rain down on me

But I will hold on
I will hold on hope

I begged you to hear me, there's more than flesh and bones
Let the dead bury the dead, they will come out in droves
But take the spade from my hands and fill in the holes you've made

But plant your hope with good seeds
Don't cover yourself with thistle and weeds
Rain down, rain down on me

I really dig James Taylor. Sweet Baby James is a fantastic album.
