Thought I'd post this in here for those who don't frequent the All Things Transformers thread in the Alien/Robots section. :lol New CGI show that will air on Hasbro's new channel The Hub, starting November 29th that will blend aspects of all continuities (most noticeably the movies, Transformers Animated and War For Cybertron). It's being produced by Duane Capizzi and Jeff Kline (Extreme Ghostbusters, Men in Black, Big Guy & Rusty the Boy Robot, Godzilla the Series and Jackie Chan Adventures), as well as Robert Kurtzman and Robert Orci (writers of the Transformers movies, but also the new Star Trek as well as Alias and Fringe). Supervising director is David Hartman (MTV Spiderman, the Starship Troopers animated series Roughnecks, The Boondocks) and character design is being handled by Jose Lopez (TMNT, Green Lantern: First Flight, Generator Rex, The Batman, Jackie Chan adventures). The voice talent is something worth getting excited over as well; Peter Cullen as Optimus Prime, Frank Welker(!) as Megatron, Steven Blum as Starscream, Jeffrey Combs as Ratchet, Dwayne Johnson as Cliffjumper, Adam Baldwin as Breakdown, and many others. So chances are good that it'll be worth a watch. :rock

Dwayne Johnson as Cliffjumper?

What is "The Hub"?? A TV network? Never heard of it.

Edit - I see it's some new channel. Wonder if Direct TV will pick it up.

if they'd drop those movie designs, i'd watch. seriously, those designs are butt ugly. time for a change.:monkey1

The character designs from the War For Cybertron videogame were some of the best in years and IMO the next cartoon should have retained the same visual style instead of the movie influenced look although even that is a step up from Animated.

Looks...okay. But nothing beats Beasties!:rock

Beast wars? Probably the worst transformers show of all time IMO. Actually anything, but G1 has pretty much been crap IMO. I hope the new show can bring back some G1 magic.

Dig the voice talent, but the animation looks pretty outdated. That doesn't seem like a huge improvement over Beast Wars to me. Plus, I don't care for the hybrid movie/"animated" designs (as I really don't like either).

Still, good news for TF fans who were disappointed about the "animated" show being canceled.

:goodpost: :lol

G1, FTW!!!

Just a quick bump to remind those of you who are interested that the first two episodes premiere tonight, along with a special making of and the debut of GI Joe Renegades. There's also this clip that was shown yesterday, and has a brilliant segment involving Orzi and Kurtzman, the movie writers and producers for this show:

The guys who wrote the first two movies are involved in this?

There goes any shred of intrest I had....there'll be screwing dogs and John Turturro's ass in every episode :gah:

Looking forward to watching this. Also going to watch the GI Joe series as well. Kind of like being a kid all over again.

You...Do realize that was all Bay, right? And that they also worked on quality shows like Fringe, or movies like Star Trek? :dunno

I thought this was pretty good. Though I wouldn't have minded seeing some of the voice actors from Transformers Animated reprising their roles. Super glad they got Peter Cullen to voice Prime though.

it was going good til they introduced the annoying human element. they should bring back the kid in the wheelchair who talks about courage. i could tolerate him.
