I like what I like and don't care if someone jokes or teases.

Actually, I like my comedy merciless, so if he does go after collectors like us, than I hope he goes for the jugular, teeth and all. I'm an adult, I can handle it.

Too many people can be overly-sensitive nowadays.

Edit - Not saying you are overly sensitive Yankeesfanboy, just people in general.

In all seriousness, if they are smart, they should show "collectible adult figures" in the new film. After all, the generation that was born and raised in the 80's and 90's is the one that collects and still buys figures today as adults....which is the same generation Andy is a part of.

Considering Disney owns Marvel and Star Wars now I could see them putting an Iron Man or Vader character into Toy Story 4. Imagine the toy sales!!!

Sill, TS2 dealt with the profiteering Toy Seller pretty well, no need to take it easy on Grown Collectors. I think they can make the humor sting and still keep it family friendly.

I don't mind. The vast majority of us are grown men who spend way too much money on toys, most of them dolls for dudes. Taking oneself all that seriously isn't really a viable option.

The franchise actually dealt with Toy Sellers/Collectors twice, both in TS2 and in the Toy Story of Terror Halloween Special. That one basically concerns

a motel stay where the owner steals kids toys and sells them on eBay

. Personally, I'd think that's enough? Not sure what they could do to mine that anymore.

I know it would kill the whole thing, but I think Bonnie should mistakenly find out one of the toys is alive. Maybe a toy who's sick of being ignored and decides to just come alive and get her in trouble, and the rest have to figure out a way to get out of it. Could go Miracle on 34th St, in a way.

Looking forward to it. I was surprised at how good TS3 was. I balled like a baby at the end when Andy is telling Bonnie about each of the toys. In fact, I'm getting misty-eyed just thinking about it now!

It was a good ending to the first trilogy, but it did leave it wide open for new stories with Bonnie. The Halloween special was actually really really good. I loved how they showed Combat Carl in the 12" version and the 3 3/4" version which I think spoke volumes about our hobby here. And I really like the new characters from Bonnie's toys, Mr. Pricklepants and Trixie.

I think they can keep going for at least another 3 movies. Bring them on!

I would like to see them introduce a new toy as a main character. There's been lots of new characters here and there but it maybe needs something like the introduction of Buzz in the original to spice things up again.

Like a collectible figure who thinks he is better than the other toys because he's a high end figure, like Hot Toys. That would be a cool character with a huge ego...but in the end he realizes he's still a toy...even if he's a $200 dollar doll for adults. They can also show the community of people who collects those figures and their attention to details.

They already kind of did that with the Prospector in 2. He thought he was a collectors item.

What I'm saying is a figure like Hot Toys, with lots of accessories, multiple head sculpts (maybe one head sculpt is angry because they always keep it in the box and they don't use it because the likeness is not "perfect")The character likes being "played" with, just not with kids, he prefers adults who know how to pose him and make him look "good." He just has a huge ego because he's better than a traditional kids toy

Lovin' it! Andy buys a brand new Big Toys diecast Steel Man for $300. Figure comes alive and has a supercilious attitude but is fragile as all get-out. Woody, Buzz and the gang help him with his fee-fees.

Or Andy's ball-breaker girlfriend/fiancée delivers an ultimatum - his collection or her. Hilarity ensues.

I know what you mean. They could show the figures owner posting on Sideshow Freaks complaining about Hot Toys accuracy.

I wouldn't rule out something like that turning up, especially with Disney owning Marvel and Star Wars.

The worst thing an animated film can do is cater to children. The whole story doesn't need to revolve around adult collectibles, but they can still acknowledge it as something that is part of our culture. It's something that's relevant with today's generation of adults who grew up watching the first 3 films, at least more so than a cowboy doll and an Astronaut doll are in today's culture. In TS2, video games were part of the film's intro and they also played a role in the plot towards the end of the film, because video games were relevant at the time. If they are going to keep making sequels, then they need to adapt to the times to be relevant.

Woody is old as ****, his clothes and stuffing should be fragile as hell by now. Buzz? He's a 90s toy, his plastic should be sticky and the battery compartment corroded.

This isn't the Harry Potter series though. Pixar is not inclined to 'grow' with their initial fanbase any more than Disney is. They'll throw in the usual references for the older audience, but I wouldn't expect any 40-year Old Virgin out of them.
