Oh, and coming home to an empty house. I hate that too...

Yeah that part is sad. When I was single I use to come home from work and my dog always ran to me full of energy and life. As he got older he started walking to me very, very slowly with his head down and even though he was old with hardly no energy he still greeted me. When he eventually died he was no longer there to say hello. It was quiet and dark. That was 15 years ago and I never replaced him.

I feel better today. But after checking a food bowl for 16 years, it's hard not to look in that area of the kitchen, ya know?
