Even as originally shot, the Jabba scene is pretty redundant: he basically just chastises Han about the spice shipment and doesn't really add anything we didn't already hear from Greedo.
 
I was reading the trivia section on IMDB for ROTJ and this quote really speaks volumes why the story of SW started to go down hill after Lucas gained enough fortune to surround himself with only 'yes men' to do his bidding.
