It's a film by a guy Guillermo Del Toro discovered and decided to produce. It's about a woman that was raised in a house that she goes back to to turn it into an orphanage and her son starts making imaginary friends. It's been getting great reviews and has been out for a little while abroad. It's also called El Orfanato. I'm looking forward to seeing it, but it's not due out until 08 here in the states last time I checked.

Yup, i saw its a film by Guillermo del Toro looks pretty interesting im glad that its in spanish thats why i love picturehouse; i think here we will get the movie first as Pan's Labyrinth (crossing fingers) but its only time to see what happens.

Ok So I'm resurrecting this thread,
This Movie is AWESOME!!
I just saw it over the weekend and I'm telling you, it's great to see that good horror-suspense movies are still being filmed...anybody else here has seen it?
Guillermo del Toro only produced it, it is actually directed by Juan Antonio Bayona, this is a creepy, deep, emotional film...a masterpiece!!
It's along the lines of The Others and 6th Sense, but with a more emotional and powerful storyline.

I thought it was creepy - and it does something supposed horror films don't usually do - makes you think.

I always wondered, since you obviously speak english and spanish, when you hear spanish do you translate it in your head in english, or do you just hear the spanish?

With so many horror/HellBoy fans on this forum I figured this was a no brainer! This movie was great! I can't say enough about how much it creeped me out, and for those who have seen it you know which parts invisotext to follow (when the old lady grabs the chick's hand after being run over or when she is playing the hide and seek game toward the end) end spoilers. Seriously if you love movies like Stir of Echoes (which I liked more than the 6th Sense) the Devil's backbone, or Pan's Labyrinth then go see this movie! And subtitles schmubtitles.

Didn't care for it. Was way too long and drug out. Guess the kid in the basement couldn't yell out to anyone? Kill yourself and you get to spend enterntiy with your child and childhood friends?

Sorry i forgot i created this thread; answering your question I translate it in english, its like a cassette i only change it in my mind so i speak, read or hear english when needed an then change to my original language (spanish).

Finally saw this one today. It was a pretty movie and I liked it a lot more than I thought I would, though the ending was very predictable - it's all set up in the first scene. The first act was super slow but really kicked in and started getting interesting after the car accident. Still, it was too long and not scary in the least. I'm not scared by ghosts or children and definitely not ghost children. I did think it was smartly written though and played nicely as both a real supernatural story and an obsessive mother losing her mind story.

I really enjoyed this film. Great atmosphere and very well thought out story that today's "horror porn" films have long forgotten.
