Recently hung this one. I forgot how awesome it was until I got it on the wall.

ghostbusters-30th-anniversary-art-show-illustrations

Gallery 1988 is holding a series of Ghostbusters art shows to commemorate the film's 30th Anniversary. It's a traveling art show that will go to New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and San Diego. The two illustrations you see here will be a part of the show. The one above was created by Joshua Budich and the one below is by Anthony Petrie. Below the art I've included the dates and locations that have been revealed so far.

More Ghostbusters Prints:

Direct from Gallery1988:

THIS SATURDAY NIGHT, Gallery1988 will begin it’s most ambitious, and secretive, project ever. We have teamed up with Sony Pictures to pay tribute to one of the greatest movies of all-time, turning 30 this year: Ghostbusters.

We have produced a once-in-a-lifetime traveling art exhibit that features more than 70 artists creating original paintings, limited edition prints, sculptures and apparel inspired by the classic comedy. It all kicks off properly in New York City THIS SATURDAY NIGHT, from 7-10 PM at 69 Leonard St., near the famous firehouse from the film.

A majority of the artwork will ONLY BE AVAILABLE by attending one of the galleries in-person. A very small allotment of prints has been set aside for each city, with a smaller selection at our final Comic Con stop. This is the ONLY way to purchase this artwork. There will be small surprises at each stop as well.

A commemorative series of special 30th Anniversary screenprints WILL BE AVAILABLE in limited amounts ONLINE, in addition to in-store, at ghostbusters30th.com. These will be released sporadically over the next month. This set consists of prints from Mike Mitchell (poster), Phantom City Creative, Anthony Petrie, Tom Whalen, Tara McPherson, Dan Mumford, Dave Perillo, Lora Zombie, Godmachine, Rich Kelly (select cities), Mark Englert, DKNG and Joshua Budich. When purchasing online, please read terms & conditions CAREFULLY, as combined shipping will be offered.

We also will have very small amounts of collaborative t-shirts from LRG, Johnny Cupcakes, Homage & Rebel8 at each stop.

The New York Ghostbusters gallery opens SATURDAY NIGHT, April 19th, with an opening reception from 7-10 PM. We will be open everyday through April 26th, from 11-7 PM. Our next stop is Gallery1988 (West) in Los Angeles on May 17th.

Someone say Mystery Tube ????

Nakatomi-mystery-tube-sale-2014.jpg

It’s been 6 months since the last Nakatomi-Wide MYSTERY TUBE SALE. They have more tubes than ever before- about 250 already packed with a few more tubes-worth of prints waiting on stand-by…so hopefully those who want one can get one!

Starting somewhere between noon and 2pm CENTRAL TIME on TUESDAY April 22nd , they’ll have tubes for purchase for $50 each. Each tube will have 5 prints in it-all suitable for framing. Some are considered ‘scratch/dent’ in that there’s minor printing flaws or a ‘soft’ corner, but nothing that won’t frame out.

Tim has 4 more Dr Who prints planned, there’s only 2 pictured here, the remaining two are under wraps for now! You will get ONE of the four final prints in this series in each tube you order.

Test Sheets! They’re randomly inserting a totally awesome and unique test-sheet with orders!

They’ve got 7 pieces of original art by Doyle- black and white pen and ink drawings on Bristol Board
They
’ve got copies of some older prints that have been kicking around the shop for a bit- acquired from a friend of the store! The Warriors print is signed and numbered by Stout! Both the SPACED and WARRIORS prints are in sharp condition, and the Ferris Bueller by Jay Ryan is in decent enough shape!

Nakatomi will put these up for sale at a random time between noon and 2pm Central Time on Tuesday APRIL 22ND- and then tweet the sale link a few minutes later. You can follow Tim Doyle on twitter HERE.

NOTE- Last tube sale, we opened up sales on 100 or so tubes on eBay, which really smoothed over the checkout process, as their servers are VERY LARGE and it took 100 transactions off of our end as well. If traffic dictates, we MAY do that this time, if so- we’ll tweet about it, so follow that twitter link, eh?
