Mine was peeling apart straight out of the box from Sideshow, that was with the deluxe. I returned it and later got a used specialist and that one was damaged when I bought it. I'm currently trying to track down that thin black pleather to make a replacement but I'm not sure where to source it exactly.

What about real leather, and colour it black with acrylic paint?

I thought the stormtroopers were the 501st folks

Yep definitely the Stormtroopers but I would bet good money they also used a few of the 501st Death Troopers.

Anyway doesn't really matter. At least we got another chance.

Those death troopers look pretty inconsistent in that shot, I feel like that wasn't the case in Rogue One. One on the left has a tiny helmet and is so thin, others have more regular sized helmets, one seems kind of large.

Just hope they used better material this time.

Lots of thin cheap pleather for woman's purses and straps. Glove leather (thin). Or make from canvas and coat with vinyl repair, paint, or liquid rubber. Some of the doll/puppet suppliers like Monkey Depot and MoreZMore Estate (Ebay) have tiny buckles, studs, etc. Some craft stores have useful stuff.

Regarding the different sizes of helmet in the rogue one still...
It's just like real life. Unless you get the cheapest and crappiest motorcycle helmets, you'll have 2 to 5 shell sizes.
I'm Arai Shell Size 3 yet average build and I know some serious 2meters lanklet with shell Size 2 and smaller guys with the Shell size 4.

I'm pretty sure that given a DLT-19D is 3100 Credits, and it's just ONE of the weapons the Deathtroopers carry in their loadout.... The empire is not going to cheap out on Helmet Shell sizes. It's not some fleet grunt, it's tall bodyguards that protects Empire ViPs.

Even vikings mass produced (for their time) different helmet sizes, i don't see a ruling galatic wide militaristic empire having a single shell size for all the troops, it would be as dumb as having a single shoe size.

Totally. That's why they're probably 5 dudes from Californian 501st squad who said they'd stand with rifles aimed at a building until Gian Carlo turns up from his trailer....I mean Tie Fighter.

Noticing HT is now advertising their release estimates in 1/3 of the year windows instead of quarters...

They need to give 2 year estimates on all their stuff to twart the people who rush to pre order then use any delay to cancel their orders and demand a NRD refund.

I sold my Specialist Deluxe a year or so ago as I it just felt awkward posing with that DLT19. Now that a standard is available with E-11D I?m back in for one.

Already got a specialist and a specialist deluxe (and their holsters have held up fine so far!), so no need for the re-release for me. But good news for the many who wanted these and missed out.

This is also exactly why I won't pay aftermarket on K-2SO, as I'm willing to bet Hot Toys won't pass up the opportunity to re-use all of that unique tooling for a re-release when the Cassian Andor show hits...

Yeah he?s one definitely worth waiting for a re-release if he?s on the Cassian show. I paid only $330 for one a few months back which I figured would be around the price he?d be of HT does rerelease him so I was cool with that. But eff those $6-700 prices. No way

I got a smoken deal on K2 a couple months after he was released. $170 shipped. A store had a big sale and included him.

Wasn't it $235 when it was first offered 4 years ago?

From what I could find with this checklist (https://sixthscalescavengers.com/features/hot-toys-star-wars-checklist/):

MMS385 Death Trooper Specialist - $235
MMS398 Death Trooper - $220
MMS399 Death Trooper Deluxe - $250

So it's not far off as far as inflation goes, but it does suck that it's seemingly the most bare bones Death Trooper they've done. It doesn't come with pauldron, grenades, or the long rifle that the first 3 releases had spread around between each MMS.
