This short film is a prequel to The Lord Of The Rings, set in Middle Earth which depicts events leading up to the Fellowship of the Ring. The story follows the Heir of Isildur; the "greatest huntsman and traveller in Middle Earth" as he sets out to find the creature Gollum. The creature must be found to discover the truth about the Ring, and to protect the future Ringbearer.

The script is based on the appendices of The Lord of the Rings, and references in The Fellowship of the Ring.

Thought i would put this in the LOTR section rather than movies sec since this an amateur effort.

This is a fan based short film and was just wondering what u guys thought of this idea-effort?

Do u say good on a fan for taking the time to make a film about the stories we all love or they should leave well and good alone as it does nothing to enhance the real films.

I personally don't mind it at all and am willing to have a look without holding any real expectations.Hope they had fun making it.:D

I actually thought that was really good
I would love to see that sort of concept of Aragorn tracking Gollum made into a movie

I love looking at LOTR fan made vids. I've spent alot of time on youtube watching music vids that people have made. Some are downright great!

Have you seen some of the fan made trailers for The Hobbit?

So I think its agreed this should be made into the Second unnamed prequel movie to the LOTR :D

Pretty interesting trailers, can't wait to see more on this one.

With things like this, the dialogue/delivery really lays bare the actors skill, or lack there of. If the acting is decent, I think this could be quite enjoyable.

I thought the trailers were very well done. Now the actor who is playing Aragorn is no Viggo....but I'll definitely be checking it out. Some of those shots were absolutely stunning and for a fan film, I'm very impressed.

Well I just watched the 2nd Trailer and I think it looks quite decent
The Guy who plays Aragorn somewhat resembles Viggo as does the guy playing Gandalf
SO I'll definitely watch it

If anyone sees the download available I would like to see it.

looks pretty stupid if you ask me :dunno gollum wont be in it soooo WTF just aragorn walking around for abit

Watch the trailer. Gollum IS in it. And the script is actually based on the appendices of The Lord of the Rings, so it's a little more than just Aragorn running around.

I'm interested in watching just to see how close to professional a fan film can be. The cinematography from the bits I've seen is quite impressive. People really poured their hearts and souls into this thing with no pay - a true labor of love.

Pretty stupid? ok...

I thought I saw a long distance shot of gollum in one of the trailers. Regardless, it appears to be of very high quality for a low budget (<$5k),fan based production.

Looks interesting to me, but I'm all for fan films/fan edits. Not all of them are as good as others, but I've seen some great fan made films/edits that offer an interesting take on already existing films. These guys have pulled off some decent shots in the trailers, so I'm willing to check it out. It isn't easy to just pick up a camera and start shooting a decent looking film that others will want to watch.

Just finished watching "The Hunt For Gollum". A fantastic effort for under $5k. Be sure to watch the behind the scenes.

I watched it this afternoon. I must say I was pleasantly surprised by it! I saw a trailer a month ago, or even longer I think, and totally forgot about it. But I really liked it.

Anyone else who thinks the man playing Aragorn looks a bit like Tony Curran?
